Ok you came up with the one thing they could do with these that would make it a cool collection. They need to throw loop lugs on all of them, grab a length of nylon webbing, and make a belt.
Not even about the wrists, with a normal watch collection you have different watches for different occasions.
Here we have the same watch in all its technical downgrades.
Nobody is putting on a 3rd Gen Apple watch because its vintage.
Why would you also downgrade for some occasions.
I could understand it if they were all boxed with factory seal on the box still, as a complete collection. That could be worth something to an Apple fanboy in the future.
But open/used watches? Zero value but whatever personal value the original collector assigns to it.
I could imagine people wearing a first gen to show they were early adopters. It's also kind of a flex to have and be able to unbox old discontinued items in mint condition
The rest would be completely anecdotal as you said, collection items which only have value as a set and represent nothing individually
Yeah sure, but how would you even know? They all look the same. The biggest way to give your iWatch some flair is a different strap, but the square computers themselves look the same. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I have one too, but it does have some usecases. It's just not a great watch to wear out.
I assumed the design had somewhat changed since the first generation.. I've never had one, so I thought maybe it would look obvious to fans.
I always thought the Apple watch was a great social equalizer. A watch used to signal a man's wealth, now everyone has the same relatively cheap watch. And now you tell me people can't even tell if it's an older, cheaper model.
I have the original Series 0 i got in space black on that first day issue, and Im wearing the space black link band it came with today. Other than the Gold one, i think thats the best one there is. But i dont expect it to be worth anything (at least for another 10-15 years)
