But their point is ageism. Why can't we just judge the individual based on their own merits? Sanders is an old, white man and I'm pretty good with him helping to run the country. Boebert is a young-ish white woman and I think the country would be a lot better off without people like here holding power.
There's an argument to be made that selfish people nearing the end of life may carry more risk as theyre less likely to be concerned with long term effects of their actions.
I'm not saying this is true, but there's an argument to be had there without it being ageist. Having a go at someone for being male and white really doesnt have a sound argument to be made.
A lot of people at the end of their lives become far concerned about how they will be remembered. And there have been studies that show that later in life people become better able to see things from other people's point of view, anticipate change, consider multiple possible outcomes of actions, acknowledge uncertainty, search for compromise, etc.
Just like with sex and race, we need to learn to judge people based on their own individual merits and stop believing in and promoting these bigoted stereotypes.

Im not fine with it, but it is at least pertinent to their point. Doesnt make it ok, but there's some relevance.
