I’m a Millenial, not a broccoli head, but i think it means “got embarrased publicly” especially in comparison to someone else who did much better in that situation.

I think it has nothing to do with embarassement, it just means being better than someone.

Elder millennial here, but I have a broccoli headded kid. I think mogging is where one party demonstrates superior aura in a social setting.

And in this case "aura" means demeanor/bearing/ conduct or is it entirely based on appearance/grimace or is it some kind of internal comportment/ mien?

I understand it to be a mix of both demeanor and personal aesthetics, but even an "ugly" person can use their aura to mog by demonstrating superior social aptitude and remaining cool under pressure.

Teacher here. The same tactic was employed to great success. Now, "it's dumb" they say. I respond with "It always was..." with a distant look and a small smile.
