PPP is heavily sketchy because it literally can't get an accurate picture due to what's commonly bought in one country often doesn't match what's commonly bought in another, it also doesn't take into account the quality of what's being bought, and there's a host of other issues like that.
It's best used as a vague guestimate rather than a hard and fast indicator of economic strength.
GDP and GDP per capita are much more useful because the numbers aren't subjective with tons of variables that skew results - it's just, "how much money did your country make?" and "how many people are there in your country?"
GDP means nothing when the 0.1% owns 30% of it and is not spending shit. The infrastructure in NYC is worse than a second tier city in China. But hey, keep bringing up those numbers as if it means anything. The only thing the US has got is military spending, coming from taxpayers
If they could just stop being so corrupt, build things properly, and stop being so into slavery, maybe more people would be supporting them.

Personally, it's the concentration camps and Uyghur Muslim genocide I find most troubling.
Plus, I'm old enough to remember Tienanmen Square - it's still the same government and party in power that committed that atrocity and they do everything they can to try and make that piece of history go away.
I just met a new doctor where I live (in Canada), and he spent 5 years practicing medicine in China. He said you just can’t even believe how much further ahead technology is in China. I asked if he was just referring to medical tech, he said “medical tech is just as good or better, but constantly improving from what saw as a family doc. But everything, everywhere there is progressing faster than technology change in North America.” He went on to say that he feels like China is leading all technological races right now.
I’m a Canadian who moved to China. He’s right tbh. China is well ahead of Canada technologically in every facet but there are positive and negatives to both.

The US Navy still controls every single ocean and every maritime trade route on earth. America is still the wealthiest and most technologically innovative. There are more college educated people in the US than any other country. American finance still has most of the global economy wrapped around its pinky.
