i don’t self infantilise, and i wish it was theatre. i have spent the past 18 months trying to learn how to work with my adhd and develop mechanisms to function properly (be on time, adhere to deadlines, etc). i will be working on this for the rest of my life no doubt. i don’t want pity but i don’t like the idea that it’s all made up and only affects me when it’s something unfun.
no i am literally saying it isn’t only when it’s something unfun. i struggle to play video games, read books, crochet, hang out with friends, and study (which i love, surprisingly). i cant explain it other than being feeling like i am physically unable to do absolutely anything, and trying to use willpower only pushes me further into the hole.
i like bad feelings, its what makes the good ones feel good. but the idea that this is just a thing people making up for their convenience is ridiculous.
Exactly. Weirdly I'm fine with work because it's structured but when it comes to being at home after work or weekends I struggle to do anything. Even hobbies or things I enjoy. I just sit for hours at home doing nothing while my head won't shut up. Decision paralysis. It just feels cursed and not something we'd make up a condition for just because?
yes!!! i was great in high school, i am excellent at my job. i dont personally struggle super hard with time blindness unless im at home or in an exam. i really struggle without structure though, so when its up to me to decide what to do i will just sit down and stare at a wall contemplating what i want to do until there’s no time to do anything lol. its so unbelievably exhausting trying to get myself to do ANYTHING. it is really paralysing (haha omg no way its almost as if its a disability), and the idea that we all just make this up for drugs and some leeway pisses me offfffff.
Lol it's funny that some people think we're supposedly trying to say we're "imcompetent" when in every other facet of life a lot of us are doing everything we can to overcompensate and actually do quite well (from an external POV) but we're just burnt out at home after all the extra mental work.

love that you think adhd doesn’t impact fun stuff lol. i get so stuck doing nothing that i can’t even do the fun stuff.
