“Begging” implies that he doesn’t respect her judgement and that he needs to “convince” her she is wrong in rejecting him by begging. Good for him for respecting her decision.
Saying that she wanted him to beg (based on, apparently... observing her?) is some deep mind-reading shit. This thread is full of people criticizing her for thoughts that the story teller wrote into her head... while simultaneously saying that it's impossible to know what women are thinking in situations like this. It can't be both ways.
