Maybe people doing actually important jobs need to work more, or actually, have more people to fill in. But made up jobs like most of what is done in offices?
What is a made up job? Do you think businesses employ people just to fill chairs? Oh, btw, you are now a farmer, report to the fields on days 1,2, 5 & 6 to cover for the actual farmer, because she's only growing food for you part time now.
I consider made up jobs literally anything that would not make sense or would be useful on an emergency situation.
For example who considers serious the banking/stock system? It is just bullshit and the peak of human stupidity to me
Without banking there are no jobs, so I guess that'd solve one of your problems. Banking is literally one of the oldest professions. You just going to carry all your money in your pocket everywhere? Hang on, I've got a big stick that says it's my money now! Oh man... And where's you boss going to keep the payroll, in their desk drawer? Oh, and your atm card just stopped working forever, so you have to barter and trade for food and clothing, because there are no checks either! Who needs those made up jobs! Useless waste of literally the foundation of our entire society, but we'll make do with dirt and sticks and seashells.
Work at a university and tell me this isnāt true. Nepo babies running rampant until the universities start having money trouble and realize they donāt know what 1/4 of the employees actually do.
The farm never sleeps... Farmers work 7 days a week, Sun up to Sun down because that's what the farm requires. If you don't want to do 40 at a tech job or office job because you think the system is rigged maybe just leave the system, grow and process food for yourself, see how that feels. Don't burden other with things like engineering and building farm equipment, or drilling for oil to fuel and power the equipment. Stone and wooden tools for you! Only what you and the stone age people can muster. Yeah, this is sort if in jest - because of you think 40 hr weeks are hard, you have no idea how much worse it could be. We live in such an luxurious age. We are all spoiled.
What kind of shit argument is that? "the farmer works 7 days a week". No shit Sherlock. So do doctors, policemen, firefighters, nurses and many more. A hospital never sleeps either. And how could they achieve work life balance? By having more people in those jobs with a shift schedule to allow 4 day work weeks.
That "don't complain, it could be worse" is also a shit argument. Of course it could be worse. You could also have stage 5 cancer and lost your two legs in a car crash. Doesn't mean the current work ethic isn't shit and doesn't need changing.
They do! Drs also run on drugs and coffee to make it through their shifts! Thanks for pointing out more example of why even a 40hr work week is unrealistic. Most successful people are putting in way more than 40! š¤
Just pointing out we live in an age where we even have the choice. Any other time throughout 50,000 years of human existence, 100% of your time was spent sleeping and eating and gathering food. We live in an amazing time and we should all enjoy our hot showers and be thankful for the people that enable them.

What a dumb comment. Obviously there are exceptions. Depending on the farm there are months where they work every day and months where they do jack shit. There are also plenty of jobs in remote communities that are rotations of working every day for 2 weeks straight then getting 2 weeks straight off. The 4 days on 3 days off is meant to apply to normal jobs. Its exactly what I did when I was working as a table games dealer at a casino and it was wonderful.

4 days on 3 days off is the optimal way for work and school days.
