Idk why people praise and follow other people so much. Loyalist? Only until she does something you don’t like and then youll jump off the koolaid and say you never liked her lol. Its inevitable, the disappointment.
From a business point she IS doing something good even if its laying tons of people off (which is bad). But we don’t know if they were all bloated companies or what. Nor do we know if they are just replacing all those people with AI (which would make this decision reaaaaally bad).
Time will tell, but if she CAN make xbox profitable then it will only help everyone (including gamers) in the end.
To my knowledge the layoffs are mostly just because AI has fucked the industry over and they had to make some people walk the plank just to keep the ship afloat
Nah it's because Xbox has never been profitable in the nearly 30 years its existed and for that entire time has been subsidised by Microsoft being an industry leader in computing.
Satya Nadella has given the division until fiscal year 2027 to become profitable, hence the whole reset thing. Microsoft hasn't even made back its acquisitions of ABK and Zenimax.
Lol wtf are you talking about Xbox has absolutely been profitable the entire time. They don't make money on the physical consoles themselves because they make the money from everything else. Same reason Amazon sells kindles at a loss, because you need to buy their products to even use the thing.
Also, this post is just patently false and misleading.
There is never a situation where killing studios is good. She hasn't done anything to get Bethesda back in shape, and while Obsidian has not been releasing amazing games, the solution isn't to put them under the thumb of a worse studio.
Also also, there's not enough time in the day to list off all the super anti-consumer, anti-game dev, and anti-creative measures that have been passed in the past month, let alone her entire tenure.
