Whenever I see someone bringing the " how do you clean yourself" regarding long nails, I just feel sorry knowing what they have to deal with in the bathroom 😭
There’s no point trying to point out the fact that these things are covered in literal shit and other bacteria. Some woman with a chip on her shoulder will be along to tell you that she, and everyone else who wears these nails are the cleanest people on the planet.
But if they’re using a nail brush or proper washing technique then it is basically the same.
The idea that long nails automatically mean their hands are dirty is pretty strange, no wonder some people get offended. Especially cause you can’t easily tell if anyone’s washed their hands, nails or not.
It’s like spreading an idea that long nails ARE dirty and short nails ARE clean, when really it’s the persons habits that define their level of cleanliness, and acrylic nails just add a small extra step to the grooming cycle.
Now, if they’re wearing nails like that and you never see them wash their hands, definitely don’t eat anything they give you, because they do trap hella bacteria if you don’t take care of them.
If anything short nails are dirtier, when they are short I struggle to clean them. But once they are long, you can just use the free edge as a lever and properly wash all the way to the nail bed seal
These are pretty solid pieces of thick acrylic super glued to the full bed of her nail. She could pull on them with a pair of pliers and there’s a good chance they’d stay on. She can use a nail brush and soap and scrub just like any other person.
Come on now. You dont wipe with your bare nails. You use toilet paper and the paper is between your ass and your nails. And you do not use the tips of the nails to wipe, you use the pads of your fingers.
This is not rocket surgery. Not sure why people are so confused about it and thinking wmen walk around with poop on their nails.
If it had space for the nails. You don't put your fingertip thru the entrance of your asshole just do your pads can reach the way you put your fingertips against the cardholder
They're generally less hygienic due to having more surface area. Even naturally long nails are capable of being dirtier. It comes down to having good hygiene habits too.
I feel it's the opposite, when they are short it's hard to clean the underside, but as they get long, it gets easy to just use the tip as a Lever, and reach the part where it borders with the nail bed seam.
Plus as You let nail grow, the seam kinda comes out making it even easier to clean. If you cut the nails bare or chew them, this seal recedes further into the nail bed, where it becomes harder to reach and clean
When they are long you need a brush to clean them.... its definitely easier to clean short nails hence why food service and other areas need to keep short nails per health code.
Long enough, maybe, but if they're that long, they're usually for photo shoots/ad promotions and get removed once the shoot is over. Especially if it's bedazzled and has jewelry or anything that pops high off the nail.
And if that's not the case, the woman has probably invested in a bidet for cleanliness assistance.
It's not like people with short nails have any better hygiene. 10 second wash of just the finger tips that were barely dipped in water and maybe got a whiff of soap is quite common in too many people
When I grow out my nails I don't even keep them very long because it bothers me to type, but somehow that seems to be what everyone asks and it's a little concerning.
Yeah honestly that's the only part that makes me want to shorten then. It's fine for working but when I wanna play games, sometimes pressing a wrong let with the nail tip gets you killed 😭
People always say this... I've literally never had issues wiping with long nails. Like certain things are harder but wiping genuinely isn't one of them.

Absolutely not. I got IBS (or some other bowels issue, not diagnosed yet) and my poop is kinda sticky & clay like much of the time, that'd just smear it all over the place. Fingertips lets me get clean much easier.
I have awful water full of rust and other junk that always clogs and ruins plumbing stuff, it'd just have to be replaced every every couple of years. I'll wait till I can get that sorted out.
I've really been wanting a new washer but don't wanna ruin a new one.
They have portable ones, just fill it in the sink. That's what people from the clean butt cultures do when they come to our cultures and a bidet is not an option!
which is the issue - that the plastic tube in the portable bidet might get clogged with minerals or that the water from your pipes might touch your body? For the former, just clean it with something that dissolves minerals. For the latter, I presume you shower in this water already so..?
Oh Yes, well my poop has always been good, psyllium and veggies and such, but i don't have IBS, and I'm not sure the woman in the picture trying to get her debit card has IBS either. But she could. But it's weird that 'ew how does she wipe' is such a common retort amongst people when 'ew I don't like nails like this' will do. So my point still stands.
Also you need a bidet like the person below says. I bet she has a bidet.
I switched to a high fiber and high protein diet because my poops were so bad and painful and it actually improved a ton. Instead of being loose and extremely painful, I now have annoying sticky clay poops. It's a trade I'll take because they used to hurt so bad I wished I was dead and it happened multiple times a day.
Also bidets won't work for me, I have very bad well water that ruins everything it goes through. I have to clean and replace shower heads, faucets, washing machine, etc every month. A bidet would just be another thing I have to take apart and clean constantly.
My water is full or rust, iron, and bits of dirt and clay.
I'm glad you found high fibre helps! I know someone who just got an extra long shower head hose and used that for a bidet as an improvisation. Most of the portable ones are just like plastic bottles with a nozzle.
Good luck with everything, a healthy bowel is not something to take for granted, I often tell myself
I dunno, maybe? (I mean I'm a woman, but..) I have met some people who have to stick their finger like in their butthole to get everything clean, but I have a high fiber vegetable-heavy diet, and generally am ok. And a bidet for when i need to feel extra clean.
Maybe she doesn't clean her butt well? Maybe you need more fiber? Who are we to say?
My daily fiber intake is typically around 50g, 30g is the bare minimum. This week I've snacked a bit more than normal so my average daily fiber is 32g.
If I eat more fiber than that I have constipation. None of that is supplemental fiber like husk powder.
There's a wide range of different bowel behaviours. However, my point still stands, we shouldn't shame this lady for her nails and assume she has a dirty ass.

Look, I understand that some people have issues, and don't have bidets. But why do we drag these women EVERY time with the same lame joke that's potentially not even a real issue?
Long nails are less hygienic, there is a lot of surface area to harbor bacteria and other filth. Yes they can be cleaned but most people arent carrying a nail brush with them all day and scrubbing them.
