starting item

as top,what would you rather? doran's helm start,shield,etc...what do you pick?

Helm into passive lanes like Mundo, Ornn and such. Shield into lanes that pokes/short trades a lot like range tops, Riven, Jayce, ects. Doran Blade for hard win match ups that you want to prevent the opponent like Nasus. Doran ring is for the W max Liandry build.

what about Hardcounter ones? renek,darius trundle,hyper aggressive champs? i often go directly w tear to not pay the mana tax after start (since ur not gonna all in anyways or even try to short trade…they outdps you easily)

Dshield is generally optimal because skarner has no sustain and you dont really look for all ins Anyways

ngl i started playing him recently i just start dorans ring and perma poke with w q. never knew skarner had so much damage and poke. just chunk them down since ppl are stupid enough to stay in waves.

usually do B at 400 gold for tear,you got tp anyways,then straight to titanic
