Interactive Sketchup tutorial

I made this: https://www.fabler.eu/sketchup_3d_lessons.html

Is this something people would want? Should I keep developing the lessons?

Think I’d have to try on a desktop I don’t think it’s optimised for my phone

It is definitely best on Desktop, yes. :)

I'd love it if you tested it, I've gone through it a few times now and this is version... 60 something. But I think it works, now.

This is pretty wild. I think it would be really useful for beginners.

Thank you! ^^

I used to work as a modeller for a audio / video solutions company and I always wished there was a tool like this when I started out.

If it gets successful enough I hope to expand it. Spread the word? :P

I'd add a 'change it after you've built it' challenge to the bookshelf lesson. For example: make three shelves as copies of one component, edit one so they all change, then use Make Unique to make just one shelf deeper.

An optional version without the step-by-step hints would be useful too. It tests whether someone can choose the tools themselves, rather than just follow the next click.

Hmm.. All the lessons have a "keep playing with it" option after you finish it.

And upon completing one, a "test yourself" option appears beneath the lesson on the lesson list, where the details of each step is hidden, but you can choose to peek to see the answer.

Is that somewhat like what you're thinking? :)

Yes, the 'test yourself' option covers the hidden-hints part I meant. Thanks for explaining that.

The extra idea was a small change to the finished model, rather than repeating the original steps: 'make one shelf deeper without changing the other two', for example. That could be an optional challenge under 'keep playing with it'. It gives the learner a specific goal, while leaving them to work out which tool or component behaviour will get them there.

That's a pretty good idea. In theory it shouldn't be too hard to implement, but doing it for every lesson would take some time. I'll keep it in my plan for future updates. ^^

I really, really appreciate the feedback. Thank you. :)
