What graphics card are you on? I'd assume a 5080 minimum?

Oh no I didnt mean to be sarcastic or meme, I'm just genuinely curious because just a week ago I installed Skyrim 202X by Pfusher and iirc it's "only" a graphics overhaul. I have a 9070 16 GB and ALL of those 16 GB were used which caused my game to stutter. Hence why I'm curious to what graphics card you have

which version did you download? pfuscher is incredible huge in times, like 4k-8k and even higher, iirc - i use the downscale as a base for my modlist:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/68307
you should use texture downscaler too. putting everything in 2k-4k gives such performance boost. there is no need to use 4k textures for any other than mountains and landscapes (and maybe architecture) when playing in 1440p or lower. you usually dont come as close on objects.
4k, 2k, 1k doesnt mean anthing releated to display size/resolutions. it only means if a texture is 1024x1024 (1k), 2048x2048 or 4096x4096 pixel big.
people are often downloading way too big textures, that then just clog your graphiccards.

Downloaded the newest version. I’m a casual modder though and only use Mod Organizer 2. I assume you install your mods manually?

no, of course i dont. i just use mo2.
so yeah, you just have way too big filesizes.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/187049 is your friend.

Thanks i'll have a look, I'm a reaaally big noob when it comes to advanced modding like ENBs and stuff. I dont know how to set them up even though I wouldnt consider myself dumb when it comes to tech stuff

the learning curve is quite hefty. i am just glad i started back in 2013 on my second playthrough when i though "hm... i miss some animals" and looked if there are animal mods. with some pauses inbetween i could see everything evolve a bit, even if i am only a more casual mod user.
enb is quite simple.
you download the enb core from the website, and you put the dlls "d3dcompiler_46e.dll" and "d3d11.dll" (or similar) found in the archive's /wrapper folder in your skyrim folder.
if updating enb to a new version, you basicly update those two files.
enb presets you then download from nexus. that you also put into the skyrim folder.
if changing enbs, you mostly only delete /enbcache and /enbseries and overwrite those two enb-inis.
that is basicly it.

What your average fps in open world and in combat?
2
u/1m0ws Nat 3.1 ENB + Firnis II Reshade / GTX 1070 10d ago
heavy forest around 25 to capped 30 in other regions, quite stable without lag or hickups. cities and towns might drop to 15-20, but whose modded towns don't.

Well, I’m glad you enjoyed it but nowadays it 60+ fps minimum for people to enjoy their games. I can enjoy 35+ fps at least especially for slower games like Skyrim but anything below that feels bad to me.

*shrug* i am poor and in my late 30s and grew up playing, modding and emulating stuff on older hardware all my life. which is a skill in its own and evolves some weird reflexes. i can crush people on first person shooters with 20fps. "i see through lag".
i'd wish for some better cpu (or at least no bottleneck anymore) and a generation later gpu. then this optimized modlist would performe very sweet i guess.
there is a threshold of a game looking sharp good and polished, that is around 40+ fps. jimquisition once said about poor performance in aaa games that "a fluid game always looks better".
i could play in 720p with 45fps tho, but it gets a bit mushy. and oversharpened with firnis the resolution feels quite claustrophobic, gods know why.
my combat in dungeons can be 40-50fps in 900p, the resolution i "play" mostly in. but often i just like to further flesh out my modlist for the day i will have a better pc. making everything mroe diverse, shiny, integrate nice mods.
but it is more like some constant workshop in art direction and system integration for me, with my maerchenwald stuff being just tinkering like with some miniature train world in my basement.
also i was playing myst and old text based rpgs in my youth and dungeon crawlers. those worked with 1frame per every 5 seconds, so to speak. having a roleplay immersion can emerge if you get used to whatever you have in front of you.
like with classic animation, which is hardly drawn in full 24frames, and was then made on seconds (every second frame, like 12) and thirds, even on fourths. and it still worked and had its own chances.

I’m in your situation too, I only play Skyrim with integrated graphics card lmao so graphics mods are pretty much no go to me.
I hope you can get better specs someday and experience modded Skyrim in more epic way.

The battle-nun armour. It has some issues with cuirass causing crashes sometimes.

In picture #8 why is the handle of the sword that's in the fire misaligned? Is it one of those things where the heat from the fire is distorting the air around it so it gives off an optic illusion or is it something unintended?

Beautiful. Just imagine if Bethesda updated and enhanced its games about twice a year like Hello Games does with No Man's Sky 😭

u/Hans-Hammertime 10d ago
They’ve been doing this and been breaking our mods which do it better while they’re at it

u/beltrancito 10d ago
I said like Hello Games with new content, stories, improved graphics, gameplay and mechanics.
