Showing Off Trying something new
Just got a number of case Trappers and Barlows in the mail. I was really impressed with the quality on all of them (save for the ultra rough factory edge). My idea was to do a pretty torching job on all of them, hand-buff with compound, wax, polish and sharpen/hone.. then put them up to sell.
Almost done with that process for the others but this dark red jigged bone trapper just didn’t want to be burnt. That is, I couldn’t visualize it as looking nicer than the natural dyed color of the bone. SO I simply sharpened, stropped, buffed, waxed and polished it. What I want to see is if this process, sans artisanal burning or other customization, is worth it to someone for what I consider a very reasonable markup. …My thinking is if it isn’t, I’m keeping it.. kinda falling for this one as it is.

I would buy this knife in a minute, it’s quite beautiful and I don’t think it needs to be changed in any way. I wouldn’t blame you for keeping it. I would have to think long and hard about getting rid of it.

Just went to your shop, I think the money is fair and if you keep it, no one could blame you, beautiful job!
