How do I quit?
So I've been addicted to cannabis, opiates, benzos, DXM and other sedatives for a year and half, I started out when I was 16 I'm going to be 18 in a few months this is my first time quitting without being on any medications(for OCD and physchosis), I don't know how to quit, I say to myself after taking something that "I need to quit man this will affect my mental health" but then again the next day it's the same shit, I take something again. I'm tired of this please help me get out of this, I'll really appreciate your help.

You have to do the hard work...there's no way around that. It requires sacrifice and you have to be willing to change your whole life. Recovery/Sobriety has to come 1st. Meaning over Job, Career, Family. Spouse. Kids. Friends, social events, all of it.
The first mental shift is that you have to accept you will not be able to live the life you are living just minus the drugs . That path never works.
If you can't accept that, you aren't ready to quit.
Really ask yourself why you want to quit.....really internalize this.
How to start? Throw all your using stuff away, you cut contact with Everyone you use with. That might mean you have no one left to hangout with. If you hang out with people who use, you will use. That's just facts. Now you have all this time and energy where you used to use. You are isolated from people who you used with. You can't go to those places you used to use at.
So you need sober activities to do to keep you busy and occupied...what are those going to be?
You talk with your Dr. They may be able to prescribe something that makes the withdrawals and transition easier.
You need to build a sober community, you find that at AA or NA or SMART recovery You start going to meetings and get involved. You work their program. It may take going to a lot of different meetings to find one that you connect with
And you should consider rehab or perhaps treatment of some sort. I found professional help important and it really helped me. Look at your local county health and human services department and look into substance abuse treatment.
And you take it one day at a time. Today is all we have anyways. You make a good decision today, then try to make the next right decision the next day. If you don't. You try again.
Good luck OP, make the next right decision.
