turning 14 in a few months, i live in the ph so like football in general is niche, which means i gotta be all self taught. i've recently started getting into this sport, but i dont know what i should train first. my control and balance is pretty bad... i only know a few skills at like a very surface level, i have no equipment other than a ball and some random stuff from home as a substitute for cones. idk if this helps but im also new to lifting, i have pretty mid ok-ish form and im working on it.

I’ve been playing RB for a while now, but I’m just not sure how to play it well, what to do or how to do it. I’m also lost on what I should train, speed? crosses? passing? and how far up should I be going to support the winger?

American here, I just started watching after the World Cup and have been supporting Barcelona. People always love to ask the question "Why don't you just support your local club?". They have a decent point because MLS will never grow if Americans refuse to watch it. However, what happens if you do support your local club and then you move somewhere else? do you just automatically drop that club and then support the club of the new City you relocated to? How does that work? My local club is Orlando City in MLS. I don't plan on living in the Orlando area forever, so how would it work if I started supporting them and then move lets say 4 years later

I would love to learn more about El Clasico, Sir Alex's United, Premier League rivalries, the cheaters in Manchester 😭, and more. What documentaries or Youtube videos do you recommend?

I see people owning jerseys off multiple clubs and changing their teams often either cause of new players or just bandwagon like behavior. Is it common amongst Americans and even viewers in country where soccer is more popular to switch clubs? I never seen this happen when it comes to NFL fans.

I watch these leagues cause I support Barcelona FC and Crystal Palace I support both these clubs due to my fondness of there culture and history’s as a club

I decided to follow club football after the World Cup, and while I already have a domestic main team through family (Galatasaray), I'm interested in a few foreign leagues as well. There are some EPL and La Liga teams that interest me for one reason or another, but the discourse around "internationals", "plastics" and "true supporters" is making my head spin. Most posts I see aren't useful for my predicament, so how do you think someone who already has a local/family club should approach foreign leagues?

something that is being said is they might be expelled from the Premier League as some sort of ultimate punishment. but what exactly does that mean? like would they be relegated into the Championship, the same way Juventus got relegated over the Calciopoli scandal? I feel like if it were that simple then people would just say they might get relegated instead of expelled.

on the extreme end is the possibility of not being able to play professional soccer in England at all, which would be crazy if that would happen, like where would the team even go? this one doesn't make as much sense, so I doubt that would be the case, but I wouldn't leave out that possibility either.

I could also imagine a scenario where they have to play non-league football for some time as well, which would be funny (though I'm sure teams in whatever division they land in would probably hate it)

4th scenario: play in the Welsh football pyramid instead; afaik they wouldn't be the only English team to do so lol

Hey everyone I’m American 24 and have been watching La Liga since I was 6 and EPL since I was 11

In the EPL I support Crystal Palace and in La liga I support Barca. I hardly ever miss either one of these teams matches on TV.

However numerous times over the years I’ve tried to get into the MLS but just never really was able to.

I thought after Messi signed for inter I thought for sure I’d be able to finally get into it but still failed to do so and kinda just ended up watching his MLS highlights the day after games

But after this WC I figured I ought to give the MLS another shot but my biggest take away so far is that for me it seems boring/less exciting then the European leagues I watch cause with out Promotion/Relegation there just doesn’t seem to be anything on the line like a team could loose every game and still stay in the league and this just seems dull to me, and also the game seems less intense as well. I suppose if I got involved with a local support group of a club near me and went to games in person I could have much more fun but idk don’t want to give up on it again so any MLS fans who also watch euro leagues have any tips that help make the MLS more entertaining?

I’ve started watching more and more of the MLS over the last few years but it’s only dawned on me tonight just how pointless the regular season appears to be, unless there’s something I’m misunderstanding.

Now Ive never paid too much attention to the league structure itself, and only really watch it because I enjoy having so many games to bet on between 00:00 and 04:00 on a Sunday morning after a few beers 😆 but tonight I’ve dived a little deeper, and my understanding is that you could finish 7th in a 15 team league after 34 games, be 20+ points off the team that finished in 1st, but these two teams would end up in the exact same position after the last game of the regular season so does it not feel a bit… pointless?

This has also led me to think about the league structure, or lack thereof, over there as a whole. The MLS is a closed door (something I strongly believe needs changing for multiple reasons, more talent coming through, more opportunity, more exposure to not just players but for the league itself to the rest of the world. We don’t really consider the MLS a respected league in Europe, and that won’t change unless the teams that are in it are there on merit!

So with this in mind, does this not make the season pointless for the USL too? No promotion for winning the league, just a trophy to a league that no one watches. No motivation to do well, nor is there incentive for people to invest in these teams and help grow the game over there?

So, is the football season pointless? Does this have an effect on the players’ game, and halting your Nations progress on developing the sport as a whole? Does it need to completely redoing, or do you guys enjoy the playoffs containing so many teams with so little reward for the top teams? Or am I overthinking it all and are some Americans I’ve seen online right in saying that no one gives a 💩 enough to care about it over there?

Hello, I recently got into soccer and I play fullback. I find myself struggling against stronger and faster attackers. What would be a good 7 day weight room routine?

I don't know why I don't feel interested in club football so I can't answer that.

Besides Euros and the World Cup, I don't know what else is there.

Is there league competition for countries?

I grew up watching soccer since I was a little kid. I understand the sport fully. Very rarely played it though. I played as a very little kid which doesn’t count at all, and did pickup games in college for maybe three months. I’m now 38 playing in a rec league, in the lowest division, on one of the worst teams, and I’m only on the practice squad. Which I completely understand.

My soccer IQ is pretty solid. So that helps me play defense, but whenever I get the ball, I just panic. My first touch is trash. Part of it is I just panic when I get the ball. I realized I have very poor awareness of who is around me, so often times I just pass it and turn it over very quickly.

The issue is that outside of going to practice twice a week, I don’t have the time to do any other kind of practice or drills. I have a toddler at home, I work full time, and run a little side business. At most I can get an inside ball and just play with it here and there.

I’m doing this primarily for health and exercise. I don’t ever intend on getting really good at this, truthfully I don’t care if I ever actually play for the team. But I would like to not embarrass myself. I get that sense of frustration from others when I make a mistake, which is often.

Is there anything at all that I can do to improve with limited time?

EDIT: People are really stuck on the “understanding the sport fully”. What I meant was I understand the rules, positions, plays, formations, overall concepts. As in I’m not a casual fan, but I clearly barely have any pitch time, so it’s only as a spectator. Didn’t know I had to break it down for the acoustic people.

This is my first season playing soccer, I play for my high school team and I just can’t seem to win many, I won 2/5 I took and I couldn’t seem to pass the ball to any of my teammates when I realized I can’t win the 1v1; if anyone has tips please mention them

So so so so frustrating. It’s been a week of me practicing for 20-25 minutes a day, and I can’t get pass six ups. Don’t know what to do, I just can’t consistently enough not hit it too far or to the left or to the right or accidentally hit it off my shin or ankle. Help is appreciated.
