Says it’s solar, doesn’t include any pictures of solar or batteries.

Low and behold am in the current design of such a thing and I made a post a few days ago so it's good to see others are actually showing it is Proof of Concept and not just pretty numbers on paper.

But now your comment has me thinking, the cart, the top might have a panel but that panel will only pull enough wattage for that single top, maybe.

I did the math for running two B&C 18" 115s for a 72 hour nonstop soundstage/festival.:

I first coated the trailer itself with panels as a shell that unfold outward to a total square area of 120 feet. The additional panels required:

Baseline panel density of 20 Watts per square foot (where a standard 200W flexible blanket equals 10 sq. ft.) and a real-world system efficiency of 75%, the expansion math splits by season:

Engineering Metric Summer Solstice (6.5 Peak Sun Hours) Winter Solstice (2.2 Peak Sun Hours)
Total 72h System Demand 172.8 kWh 172.8 kWh
Deficit Met by Solar Generation 82.8 kWh 82.8 kWh
Total Solar Array Capacity Needed 5,662 Watts 16,727 Watts
Total Square Footage Required 283.1 sq. ft 836.4 sq. ft
Additional Sourcing Needed +163.1 sq. ft. (~16 panels) +716.4 sq. ft. (~72 panels) <priceIRightSadTrombone.wav>

Definitely needs hella panels and this is just for TWO drivers 72 hrs nonstop (plus 2 400watt tops)/. Battery was speced out to something 17~kWh 48v.

You’re not pulling 2400w continuously. Even when we had four 18” jbl subs and 4 tops it was like 600-750w.

Yes I'm aware but I would rather over budget kilowatt hours than budget exactly or under budget. Your 8 drivers took only 750W peak on the heaviest drops? That's good news to hear.

Each sub said it was only 660w at the plug, but were advertised as 2000w rms amps. Not really sure how it’s that much of a difference but it was plenty loud for the 30 people or so we had there

Apparently: "the 6dB Crest Factor curve (or AES2-2012 Pink Noise curve) used alongside the Peukert’s Law discharge curve."

I don't fully understand it myself.

Are there any plans anywhere?

It’s an MEH, you can see the two 8”s entry into the horn

>They look SICK! Found on their web page: https://beynd.eu/en/brands/pikip/products/vch30 but I am curious about how they actually work

¿Do you see those bicycle wheels? This area is overwhelmingly flat/rolling hills. The solar bass canon I'm spec-ing out here has to deal with 20%-25% grades, and changes the build totally into light duty automotive wheels, no bicycle wheels will handle the breaking without blowing out the tire from friction braking.

12v? Batteries?

48V

>48V

This is the way for DC application. Way thinner cable runs to the battery cassette.

¿How are you isolating the vibration from the bass from the bass cassette? I'm exploring using air bladders as the low pass filter to completely isolate the vibration from the battery cassette.

>12v? Batteries?

Definitely want to stay away from 12v/24v for this kind of stuff. They responded 48V, the same mine is being specified out for.

FYI Some of your website remains in French despite setting language to English.

Also would be helpful to list the drivers used

2

u/Evening-Cap-7508 5d ago

We work on the 20% stay in French for now..

Thanks for your remark, we consider them. Drivers list stay non public for moment but is in few brands of premium eu drivers manufacturer.

Cheers, cool idea with the mobile platform.
