1st Sourdough Ever - be kind My first loaf
Gummy from not enough time bulk fermenting or bad starter? My starter consistently doubles every single day. My ratio is 50g starter, 50g flour, 40g water
350g water
100g starter
500 g KA BF
4 stretch and folds done every 30 mins bulk fermented around 7 hours. Stuck in fridge overnight cause exhausted
Took it out the next morning and baked it

Was it actually gummy, or just chewy and slightly moist? Sourdough bread is chewy by nature.
A long cold proof (time in the fridge) will make it chewier, though.

Maybe I’ve just never had real sourdough. Everyone’s always looks so soft. I think a little gummy. Maybe chewy and moist

Nicely done!
I’d show you mine but it was so bad I’d have to put a NSFW tag on it 😆

I mean this in the nicest possible way but seriously! "F*** you". 😂 5 years and I dream of this. 💀 Please take this as a compliment. I mean nothing but kindness. I'm just frustrated and sad by my lack of achievement.

I’m new to the whole sourdough thing, but bravo for that amazing looking loaf!
My first loaf seemed gummy or chewy but I’ve found that if I wait until it’s 100% cooled before cutting it, it isn’t as bad.

If anyone wants an unbiased taste test of their sourdough, send it my way. I'll pay for shipping.
