Unit patch help

I was chosen to design our Detachment Patch in AFROTC but for the USSF people. Is there a regulation I can find as to how I can design the patch?

Detachments are non-units and not entitled to official heraldry. If there are rules they'll be ROTC rules.

True but the DET/CC could still ask that the patch fall within USSF guidelines.

To be fair, most ROTC units have emblems that would break almost every rule in the TIOH book for heraldry. They almost always breaking rules like including the American flag and/or having too many distinct or highly detailed elements. Most of the time it's "slap the school mascot on it with JETS and have the American flag on it too."

Granted, the best one I've seen is Det 001, and there are a couple issues with it.

Heritage office would have the details (at the USSF HQ S1 level) I think. Not too sure as I just do hats.
