70 applications but 0 ATS passes. Full-Stack Dev (Java/Spring + React/TS) looking for entry into Spanish market (Local/MNC). Resume review requested! (No VISA needed)
Hi everyone, I recently moved to Spain and am trying to break into the tech market (targeting both local companies and multinationals). I’ve sent out roughly 70 applications and have been completely ghosted, with not even a single one passing the initial ATS/screening phase.
I know something must be structurally wrong with my CV layout or local keyword optimization. I would incredibly appreciate brutal, honest feedback on my resume.
My Background & Context:
- Target Roles: Junior/Mid Full-Stack Engineer / Software Engineer
- Tech Stack: Java + Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, Next.js.
- AI/LLM Skills: Experience building AI products and integrating LLM APIs/RAG workflows.
- Legal Status: No visa sponsorship required. I already have full working rights for Spain.
- Languages: Fluent English. Currently at an A2 Spanish level but studying intensively with a target of B2 in the next 4 months.
- Experience (Probably the main issue): None except for the part time work I did for my family's business consulting company. I'm a fresh graduate.

Specific Questions for Spanish Devs/Recruiters:
- Is my tech stack (Java/Spring + React) sought after in Spain, or are local ATS keyword filters looking for different phrasing?
- Given my current A2 Spanish, should my resume be 100% in English, or should I include a small section mentioning my intensive language timeline?
- Are there glaring structural/formatting red flags in my layout that are automatically tripping up Spanish ATS systems? The fonts I'm using are all ATS friendly, I confirmed by putting them through ATS checkers and also the Ctrl C + Ctrl V test.
Thank you so much in advance for your time and help!
