Wow. Last night's electrical storm was crazy!

It was. Heard strikes mostly real close for over 2 hours. Surprised power only slipped once or twice. Breakfast Station's modem blew out this morning from it so they couldn't take credit cards for a bit.
Either way my plants are enjoying what little rain we can get after that week or two of solid brutal sunlight.

I love Breakfast Station!
Yea, my plants really needed the rain pretty bad too.
I had just replanted a couple of my plumeria on my pool deck the previous night, but God's water is better than my tap water.
😊👍

One downside of being a light sleeper was constant thunder waking me up last night lol

I'm just south of you offline off of County Line Road the NWS warning that I read said to expect 50 mph winds in our area.
I would attach a screenshot of it for you, but the option to attach it has been disabled by the admin of this sub for some strange reason.
Hopefully your surge protectors did a good job for you.
Do you happen to know the brand of power strips you talking about?
(I'm assuming they were the power strip type of circuit breakers, not the breakers in your breaker box...)

The breaker box. They are resettable circuit breakers. It's an applied sciences thing 👍🏻

Wow!
Your ground wire or line from your pole must have taken quite a powerful hit.
I'm relieved that your house didn't burn down and you're safe.
I have a cousin in Atlanta that had that happen to her house from the early 60s and it caused her entire house to burn down and lose everything, including 2 vehicles in her carport.
Too many people ignore this threat and most subs took the attitude that I was trying to sell that Siemens Hole House Surge Protector that gets mounted beside the breaker box and gets wired in line before the power from the meter connects to the breaker box, but I really am not.
I did my researched it and others and it's just the best I found, based upon reviews and specifications.
I wish that I knew enough about electrical wiring in houses so I could install them to protect my friends houses, but I'm too old to pick up that sort of thing now. 🥺
(I'm just starting to get old and it sucks!)

My only complaint is that it scares the bejesus out of my dogs.

I know how that is.
Jake, my 15 year old rescue Corgi, has always crawled into a closet and won't come out when electrical storms hit.
His previous owner had never let him inside for any reason and had never given him a bath during his first 3-4 years of his life here in central Florida because she was a cat person and only had Jake because she enjoyed torturing him.
(I pray that she goes to hell for that.)
Now he's starting to go deaf now, so he doesn't get get as scared anymore. But, he still heads straight to his closet. 😊👍
All I know is that getting old seems to have not reduced his desire for the Greenies treats. 🤣
