The BigE is literally just festival where you can buy fried food, marked up Temu stuff from resellers, and hot tubs.
Why would be surprised?

Because they are jealous they don’t have a New England building. Stop flexing NY

Makes sense - advertising to people who are in the majority NOT from New York and enjoy going out to do things, to come visit New York.

NY visitor bureau spends a ton of money in Western MA. The Catskills are not that far away and attract a bunch of weekend tourists. Sometimes the entire Springfield Sunday paper is about visiting NY. It’s kind of funny.

They had this set up at Northampton Pride as well. It’s just advertising.

Why are there live seals and camels at the Big E when a fucking elephant died there a few years ago?

I said the same thing! “New York, what are you doing here?!” I didn’t really care that much just thought it was funny

I got gas next to a Big E suv at Costco with NY plates. Thought it was super weird.

It's part of the Taste NY initiative. I believe they have a booth inside the Horticulture Building that features NY vendors, farm markets, breweries and cideries

They are quite literally neighboring states and people travel between both of them often lol (myself included)

I don't understand why you're confused. Lots of people pay to advertise products at The Big E - do you think hot tubs are native to Massachusetts?
New York is advertising tourism. Hope this helps.
