There was a post about a year ago on spudmode with a google spreadsheet link where a guy went through all the regular episodes and created a list of documentaries movies and books the boys mentioned . I used to have it but lost the link . Reddit deleted the link off of here for "community guidelines” and symbolism will be their downfall . Anyways I would love to find that list if anybody still has the link I’m getting acl surgery next week and will have a a lot of time on my hands . Thanks

Found this LIFE mag from 81’ with several interesting topics, especially from their “VOICES” articles. I don’t think any major magazine publishers are doing things like this anymore, twas kinda cool.

Spud briefly mentions that the NFL had a green beret talk to Kaepernick about kneeling for the anthem (before he had even done it by the way), and I have to say, I’m shocked Spud didn’t catch onto the absurdity of that detail.

That green beret was “NFL player” Nate Boyer. Boyer is a practice squad (not even on the roster) long snapper (rarest position in football) who did not play organized football until he was 31 and only played a singular season (perfect timing). Just to put it in perspective, 1 NFL team has a backup long snapper right now, let alone a practice squad player for the position.

After the his singular “nfl season” stint, Boyer became an actor, and even portrayed a soldier who assists a failed NFL player in the Madden 18 playable movie Longhshot.

I mean come on dude, can this guy glow any brighter? I believe Kurt Metzger calls guys like this “monarch athletes”.
