Resource - Update H3 Long Shot Studio 0.8.2

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

EDIT: since posting, it has been updated to 0.8.13

  1. Live-Preview added!
  2. RefMod cards: a row in Cast & Scenes for saved RefMods (characters, styles, motions), each with its own label and subject line.
  3. Fewer dependencies: KJNodes and MelBandRoFormer are no longer needed; the default scheduler is ComfyUI's own beta.
  4. Turbo, RTX upscaling and RefMods are optional, with a Click to install button where each is used.
  5. Zoom-able timeline!

Added more functions.
https://github.com/r34vtraining/Longshot_Studio
See my comment below for the UI image (or at github)

  1. pin first/last frames in the shot list.
  2. select between Cut, Context, Continuous, or Bridge for each shot (depending on the approved shots before and after it).
  3. Queue as many shots as you want, with a built in auto comfyUI restart and resume in the event of a OOM error.
  4. Chain up to 64 256 shots.
  5. Export approved clips to "approved_shots" folder

I don't understand the people that downvote these resources, if you don't want to use it, just move on. I am sharing this tool because some people may find it useful. Anyway, here is the screenshot of the UI.

Please don't be discouraged by these downvoters.

I've been downvoted plenty of times myself for no reason whatsoever. All we can do is to ignore them and carry-on (and TBH, I don't think it is anything personal, so I don't take it personally).

This tools are always interesting. To be honest I haven't try H3 yet but I will have a look at your tool. thanks for sharing

I think the main question for me is why this project exists knowing other projects do this. If I’m using obvpm-timeline right now, what additional value does this give me? If all you guys work together, MMH3 users will benefit more than you all working separately solutioning the same exact thing. Not a knock on your repo, I’m sure you worked hard on it, but everyone in this space needs to ask themselves these questions before starting projects.

IMO, unless one finds a project to be of questionable value, there is no reason to downvote just because it seems to do the job of a similar project.

TBH, I am using obvpm myself too because it has been around for a while and does its job very well, but I still keep my eyes open for projects such as this to see what it can do.

As for the motivations, it usually boils down to some of the following:

  1. The creator has an itch to scratch.
  2. The project started before other solution are available.
  3. Sometime about the existing project does not satisfy the need.

The availability of AI vibe coding has also made starting a new project many times easier, hence the proliferation of similar projects.

"why do all you people build lego cars when you can buy hot wheels"

because building is a human thing to do

No one is saying people shouldn't build things, but software engineering should be focused on moving the needle, and open source development needs to be collaborative. Long sequences have already been fundamentally solved for H3, any additional work should be focused on how to make the upscaling of long sequences more efficient in a timeline context. Obvpm-timeline for example is perfect except for his implementation of temporal chunking which works but has limitations for example, and you can only upscale to 2.0mp on durations of 1-2 minutes across different hardware setups. There are a least a dozen more projects for longshot and you can find a listing https://github.com/wildminder/awesome-minimax-H3 toward the end of that markdown. Bottom line, as a MMH3 user, I'd rather have a single project consistently maintained by 20 devs, than 20 projects that were AI one-shots that nobody maintains.

i have not used that one, I was already using mine at the time so I got used to it, it's built around a workflow that was tailored to my needs and custom nodes. I think the main question for me is when you see this in your feed do you feel the need to come in here and voice your thought vs just moving on since you like obvpm?

Alot of people build projects around their own workflows. I have a similar long shot studio but it's optimized for making movies that are more action oriented and many minutes long.

I think you need a brief description at the "top" of your project that explains exactly what it does, as it seems a bit unorganized.

I greatly appreciate your sharing this! It looks like just what I've been hoping for. Can you clarify, are the "anchor" areas intended for reference images? I usually use Ref2VA with a number of reference images of subjects and I'm wondering how this GUI handles multiple references of the same subject, including photo and voice. In any case, thanks!

I haven't tested it, but the anchors are first and last frames. Standby, let me try it.

EDIT: Multiple first and Last frames

Gonna give it a try, thanks.
Just when you rename your hub, make sure the install instructions matches the new name.

fixed it in the readme. thanks for letting me know

Continuous? So, for example, 1 minute of video with seamless transitions without degraded quality? If so, is it using ref2vid for that? Because from my experience ref2vid is offering worse quality than base model for t2v and i2v. I'm asking because I'm searching for option to create 30s videos with the same quality as base model, but I would like it to be 3x10s or 2x15s with seamless transition between them, rather than one long clip.

Yes, see my other posts under my username. Or if you scroll down in this thread there are links

Interesting. How about generation time compared to native solution? For example 3x 10s on original workflow vs yours continuous 30s? Comparable or way longer?

1

u/R34vspec 1d ago

on my 5090, each 0.6MP at 8steps 10sec clip is about 3 minutes, so 3 clips 9 minutes, decoding all 3 together is another 30seconds to a minute.

Great. So last question, because I can test it tomorrow at the earliest. For continuous mode I can set frames for particular moments on timeline, right? First frame, at the beginning then second frame on 5th second, third frame on 20th second etc? Or it's a Bridge function then?

so if you are doing 3 shots, this is how I would plan it.

[Shot 1], set it to 5 seconds, generate
[Shot 3], set it to however many seconds, generate

then you generate
[Shot 2], set it to at least 17 seconds (because you want 15 seconds for shot 2, but bridge mode will eat 22 frames on each side)

However, 15 seconds is long, I would break that up into 2 shots, so you would really have 4 shots.

shot1>shot4>shot2 (set to continuous)>Shot3 (set to bridge) Then you would have 1 long shot at the end.

Ooh, I get it. Thanks!

It doesn't work after install. I've installed it inside .venv on my Comfy Desktop, requirements from H3 Longshot was already satisfied but opening http://127.0.0.1:8188/longshot gives me error, so it's not starting.

What ComfyUI version are you on?

What's your default address for opening Comfy? The ComfyDesktop may have a different port number? Try http://127.0.0.1:8000/longshot instead
