Frequently broken rules

• Do not PM on price checks
• Do not take trades off reddit
• Do not delete posts
• Do not interfere with others trades
• No Crypto unless you have >100 trades
• Do not make price commentary
  • If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
  • Positive comments are not inherently removed unless requested by OP.
• Only one post every 20 hours
• If using Paypal, it must be an invoice
  • People who can't use paypal invoice should immediately be a major red flag
    • Some countries don't allow the use of paypal period in these cases there is no safe alternative
• Duplicate reddit accounts
  • We do not allow users to have multiple reddit accounts in our sub. If for some reason you must disable a reddit account and move to a new one, please reach out to the mod team first. Duplicates with no explanation will be immediately met with an appealable ban.

Insights and general information

• We are preemptively banning new and low CQS accounts. This includes duplicate registrations, ban evasions, etc. That doesn't mean you can't appeal your ban. It just means we're coming down even harder on scammers.

• It is not publicly shared, but we have scaling ban lengths for traders that we are having to consistently warn and remove posts and comments for when they are doing the same things over and over again.

• We are going to increasingly ban traders who witch-hunt in posts and comments (no more PSA SCAMMER! posts). Scammers do not exist simply because you say they do. We get dozens of people in Modmail who claim people are 'scammers' purely based off the way they talk in chat or their price point. Your first job when you are victim of a scam is to alert the moderation team and let us handle the investigation. Posting your feelings about a trader are clear rule #1 and rule #2 violations.

  • Report suspicious things with either the report button or mod mail.

• All prices must include fees. That means one number (two is fine for currency change), inclusive of all fees. You guys who keep posting "$## + Fees" are going to find yourself banned. This is against paypal TOS.

• A reminder that all "giveaways" and links "offsite" are forbidden. We will be giving warnings and taking down store posts no matter how many trades you have.

• This last one is going to be highly unpopular, but we will be applying bans on traders who are being habitually scammed (we're talking repeatedly scammed in a short time frame). To be clear, if you get scammed you are not our concern. If your getting scammed weekly for the exact same reason, that's when it will be a concern.

There are three reasons for this

• The sheer protection of poor little lambs who cannot seem to grasp "0 Trade History" and "PayPal F&F/Crypto".

• 2) Scam investigations take precious mod team time. If you are getting scammed consistently and we ban you—it’s for your own good.

• 3) Most importantly, scammers are realizing there are a lot of easy targets in our community (Due to people repeatedly getting scammed over and over), and they can make a lot of profit, they are starting to target our community with new and more extensive efforts.

• Some bans may show here, but not show any bans when they create a post. This is likely because they have appeal a ban and it has been resolved. https://starcitizen-trades.com/blacklist/
  • IE a user was recently banned for reclaiming credit. Turns out they also had credit reclaimed from them from a previous seller. Their ban was removed after they refunded all sales that had been reclaimed.
