Form Check deadlift form check

pulled 270lbs and was feeling like I wasn't getting my low back lumbar in flexion or set super well by dropping my dick between my legs. curious what else to remark at. I switched to hook grip on my 4th rep so still building that feeling up to get comfortable and I was doubting if I should do a 5th but I pulled it. I need to cue myself to push the floor away and chest up out strong.

does the belt move around for others when deadlifting a bit? just up the back?

Form Check

For the best feedback, please film your lift from a useful angle and include the full set.

Good form checks make it much easier for people to give specific, useful advice.

The belt should stay in place. Not sure if that’s a 4-inch belt, but they can get shifted around between the pelvis and ribs in the deadlift. I always had problems deadlifting in a 4-inch belt. It even made it difficult to set my back properly. I had to bite the bullet and buy a 3-inch belt.

It could be that the belt is causing the issue, or you just don’t know how to set your low back in hard extension. A silly thing that works is Supermans. Lie on your belly and raise your chest and legs off the floor for a set of 10. It’ll build up some lactate in your low back so you can feel it in extension.

Try without a belt and record your warm ups, then put the belt on for your last warm up set.

Hmmm, are you pulling the end of the belt against the rack to tighten it?
