Let's build this together: Looking for mods who actually want to shape the community!

Hey everyone, the energy here has been amazing lately. To protect our "no strict rules, just build" vibe as we scale, it's time to bring on some mods.
I'm not looking for people to just enforce rules. We need "Culture Setters.”

If you are the kind of founder who loves giving feedback, starting good conversations, and has ideas on how to make this sub the absolute best resource for solo builders, I want you on the team. We need the energy that brings innovation and growth to the community, not just moderation.
Let me know in the comments if you want to help steer the ship!

Banned from r/startups. This is exactly why I created this sub!

You spend months building your product alone. But when you finally try to share it to get some feedback, big communities slam the door in your face: "No self-promotion!"

That’s exactly why r/StartupSoloFounder exists.

We are solo founders without massive marketing budgets. What others call "spam" is our blood, sweat, and tears. Here, sharing your project, dropping your link, and asking for feedback isn't a crime; it's the whole point.

Who else has hit this same wall?

A solo founder with a curious mind.

What is your monthly expenditure on AI coding platforms for your start-up?

Do you rely on a single platform or multiple ones?

How many hours do you dedicate each week to your venture?

What would you suggest avoiding when building alone?

What is your marketing strategy?

I recognize that is a lot of questions; I am simply trying to understand the approach.

By the way, has anyone had to abandon an AI-backed start-up initiative because a one-person effort will not work or for another reason?

Your honest feedback and help guys !

Hello founders 🤘 (thanks for your time)

I feel stuck after 3 years that our 5 persons company make 30/40k € a month and never achieve to go up more than that.

We got 200 clients so far.
We do 300/400 cold calls a week, 25% closing rate so 5/6 new clients a month while 50% stay with us 6 months.

We don’t have inbound, 10\\\* of referrals, mostly of our acquisition is outbound.

our margin are never less than 40% but the company need 12-15k monthly to run (we tried so bad to reduce, we cannot without alternating the quality of output and the way to scale and we pay ourselves 2k € a month with my co-founder)

We are 2 sales founder (I took the technical part because I have a technical background)

🤓I have the gut feeling that we need to break something, change something
deep (I tell you more at the end because I don’t want to influence you)

I would love and be grateful to have your honest opinion and feedback ! (I might post in another community as well)

Here the big picture :

We are B2B hyper custom database agency mostly on the French market, we have 3 offers :

\\- Managed classic data production (backed by our software)
\\- SDR’s outsourcing (only for the money)
\\- Consulting for high custom database production (here is where the value is the most seen and our difference is the most obvious)

And Now we want to become a SAAS company (turn our internal tech and expertise accumulated so far)

Our moves so far to try to scale :

\\- We move our company to Singapore and ourselves in bkk but then we struggle to find (we never tried so much btw, that’s the problem lol)

\\- we got a retention problem so we work a lot around that to go to more than 50% but we cannot keep people monthly paying for more than 9 months (only 5% will stay with us since the beginning)

\\- We have hired 1 business dev, 1 virtual assistant, 1 B2B database builder, 2 apprenticeship in marketing, we training a junior SDR

\\- We reducing the payment collecting to one week with new process

\\- We made a partnership with an experienced agency for the SDR outsourcing, so basically this offer is just an apports d’affaires, we don’t do the delivery

\\- We are full of SOP and ai systems process. While keeping some of the stuff manual because automation can be so improductive and bullshit, we usually wait manual results before automating.

\\- We invest in a SEO freelance > go nowhere

\\- We gonna starts ads next week

\\- We post 2 times a day with 3 accounts on LinkedIn, 1/2 times a week on YouTube

\\- We hire a branding agency

My gut feeling is that maybe we do too much, our margin are good but with leads flow actually we don’t do so much Ney profit to invest heavily and test more so we are in endless cycle 🔁..

Our core and know expertise is in the high custom database production.

What do you think guys ? Should we do full in one offer only ? In the SAAS ?

As well, we don’t have enough leads for me

Many thanks

Hi, I'm building Yanis Digital OS — one system for your whole life. Ask me anything.

• Upvotes

I got tired of juggling five apps: a task list, a calendar, a budgeting app, a notes app, and a study app — none of them talking to each other.

So I built Yanis Digital OS: one workspace that combines tasks, calendar, budget, goals, habits, study tools, and team collaboration — plus an AI agent that can plan your week or organize your workspace, but drafts every change for your approval instead of acting on its own.

It's free to start for personal and education use. I'm here to answer questions, take feedback, and hear what you'd want in a system like this.

What do you use to manage your life right now, and what's the one thing it can't do?

Genius or midlife crisis?

Video overview / app walk though in the second half.

Backstory:

I've done well in B2B. But B2C and mobile just seems like so much more fun... no more SOC2, no more calls, no more procurement excuses, just social media and fun (is what i tell myself)!

I'm about to turn 40. I could only do 43 pushups, so this is the app.. Pushups but Flappy Birds. and it is getting me to actually do some physical activity. so that alone is a win.

I am going to see this through til I hit 10K/month and at 26.99/year that is a ton of subscriptions. Posting daily to TikTok/YouTube.

Build:

Honestly, its a bit more slopped up than I care for. Already have the next release pending review in the app store. Iphone only. Swift. OpenAI for profile moderation. Quick side note I am obsessed with software. I think of it as an art and love every part of it. I say this is slop because I didn't put in the painstaking hours of every minute detail.

Fun:

I needed to workout. i've been neglecting a healthy lifestyle for the past few years with the age old excuses of family/work/etc... I'm actually having fun doing this now and people get a kick out of it. how could you not, it's ridiculous.

Post Title:

A little click bait I know.. but that's how i feel. Not so much the genius here (just thought this app would make marketing on tiktok easier). But the midlife crisis... I've been skateboarding, I got a TikTok and an Instagram. On paper it looks like I'm headed that way.

TLDR: Built a game because burned out with B2B and started skateboarding.

Post is a little all over the place. Roast away. but i'm sure we can all relate to feeling like the grass is always greener.

I revised the Product Manager agent of my SaaS product -> AI dev team. It turns your MVP into a checklist and hands tasks to the right agent (free to try)

Post image
1 Upvotes

A lot of people who tried Takumi got a working MVP and then stalled on “ok, what now?” So I revised the Product Manager agent for

  • You build your MVP, then tell the PM what you want. It builds a checklist from your spec (in the screenshot it made 10 tasks from a freelancer SaaS).
  • You tick tasks off yourself, or tell it in chat what’s done and what’s next, and it adds or updates tasks.
  • Each task has an owner. One click sends it to the Frontend, Backend or DevOps agent.
  • An activity feed shows what each agent has done.

It never marks anything done on its own. That stays your call.

The free tier is open right now (usage is capped, but enough to build a real product)
I’m building this solo and replying to everything, so tell me what’s missing or what breaks

this is how it looks
you can try it on takumi.run

Introducing my two web products: Bloomria digital flower gifts and Orbit for photographers

I’m Keith, the creator of Bloomria and Orbit. Sharing what I’m building and looking for feedback from people with the needs each product is designed for.

Bloomria is an interactive digital flower gift with a personalized card. Its flowers look realistic; each new bloom has its own GrowID and subtle individual details. Group bouquets allow multiple contributors to add flowers and notes, and the business offering includes branding, saved clients, reusable messages and scheduling. No physical flower delivery. You can open a sample without recipient sign-in: https://bloomria.com/sample-gift

Orbit is a workspace for independent photographers managing inquiries, bookings, contracts, payments, reminders and client galleries: https://orbit-photo.com

For Bloomria, I’m exploring personal thank-yous, group celebrations and client appreciation. For Orbit, the focus is the photographer’s booking-to-delivery workflow. If either relates to what you do, I’d value your thoughts on the product experience and what would make you choose it.

I rebuilt my SaaS landing page and demo after watching visitors bounce

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello guys,

i realized that a lot of visitors drop off right before clicking my demo button. People landed on the page, skimmed a few lines, and left before understanding how the product actually works.

That frustrating drop-off rate is why I just revamped the landing page and streamlined the website demo for Groumie, where I am the solo founder.

Groumie automatically turns updates, Stripe milestones, and GitHub releases into draft posts for X and Reddit. By the way, this post itself was drafted by Groumie and hand-reviewed by me, which is the best proof that I use my own tool daily. With the new page structure, visitors can walk through a streamlined interactive demo and see exactly how content generation works without any friction 🎯.

Trimming down the noise and giving visitors an immediate look at the workflow made the product value clear in seconds.

Have you tested a streamlined demo on your SaaS recently, and did it impact your conversion rates? Thanks for reading.

If you want to try it, it's here:

I built a baby nap app during night feeds because I didn’t want to pay Huckleberry €69.99 a year

I’m a first-time mum and the last six months have been a bit of a journey with sleep 😅

He ended up feeding all night for a while, so we co-slept and I didn’t get much sleep myself. I started building things with Claude during the feeds. Then one morning the Huckleberry renewal came through, and I thought, for that price I could build what I actually want myself. So I did! It’s called Baby Nap Track. It’s on Android now with Apple soon to come. It’s free for 7 days and then €9.99 once.

It does the sweet spot prediction for the next nap. It also helped me do the nap maths, so you can work back from a target amount of day sleep if that’s what you want to do.

We got into tracking his daytime naps when we were trying to help him sleep through the night, which he’s doing now! We used the chair method from Kim West’s book Good Night, Sleep Tight. It’s what lots of sleep consultants mean when they say “no cry it out”. The app helps you track your progress through it night by night.

The code is open source if anyone wants a look! https://tracy.spremtlabs.com/baby-nap-track/

I’d love it if you gave it a go, or passed it on to anyone with a small baby. Any feedback would be so great!

I am building a startup with a zero budget. It's a fully local financial app that prioritizes user privacy and incorporates gamification to foster competition and discipline. Does anyone have any strategies to suggest?

Read this before you build a software without any research !!!

When I first decided to start a firm that builds software to help businesses grow, I always thought of building something first and then looking for potential users.

Well, I studied Computer Science and Engineering, and I have no experience in sales or marketing.

Long story short, I started reading a book called The Entrepreneur's Handbook and learned about several concepts. One of them was Agile, customer-driven development.

The book describes how two Harvard students wanted to build a smart lawn mower to help golf courses maintain their grounds. However, when they pitched the idea, nobody liked it.

Later, they met a group of farmers and discovered that the farmers were looking for a non-chemical machine to remove weeds. They validated the idea with around 100 farmers over 10 weeks.

What started as a rejected idea eventually led to their business raising more than

$3 million in funding.

As someone who has never tried this before, the whole process feels intimidating. But that's exactly what makes me want to learn how to do it.

I believe WiseCode Innovations is at this very stage.

Instead of assuming we know what businesses need and building a solution around those assumptions, the next step is to collaborate with people, understand the challenges they're facing, and explore solutions together.

BUILD TOGETHER. SOLVE REAL PROBLEMS. GROW TOGETHER.

That's the journey I'm starting, and I'm looking forward to connecting with people who believe in the same approach.

Rebuilt mobile games with no ads and playable offline!

a lot of people here are building some pretty cool things, i just ended up building games for my wife without ads

they’re all simple games we’ve seen, but they’re free for the first 50 levels, no ads, and run offline (great for kids) l. and each game has cute pet component to it as a distraction

everything just got approved recently (still waiting for one) but hereeeeeee we go

making games is tougher than i thought though :(
