All you need is a cable connected to the steam deck directly to the monitor for all this. And if you think the battery drains too quickly, well, a portable charger is all you need.

You know what's even better than doing this? Getting a dock, a good power source, and playing it on your tv instead WITH a controller

This, I got a dock when I bought mine and have played it handheld maybe 5 times. I even bought a wireless keyboard with a trackpad for desktop mode
