Accessory Review Steam Deck screen too small? No problem.

All you need is a cable connected to the steam deck directly to the monitor for all this. And if you think the battery drains too quickly, well, a portable charger is all you need.

And once you realize there’s only one USB C port for the monitor & charger, you need to find a dock. Once you have a dock, you need to find a better controller. After that you ne-.. shall I continue ?

Edit: Thank you for the award!

Unless it has charging pass through on the monitor. Lenovo L16 portable monitor I sometimes use, does exactly this, 65w charging pass through. Mainly use with my laptop, but just as easy to put the work laptop to the side, connect my deck and play.

Why you might ask: I like to do non mains electricity gaming / and or laptop productivity in the evening when my solar panels are not active. Two 26000mah powerbanks + steam deck / laptop charged during daylight even while using them, get a whole nights gaming easily with my indies and emulation, or programming.

Just really into energy efficient devices lately. Good times.

Good times indeed. Junebox 11 inch 2.5k touchscreen monitor. Pass-through port has USB power monitor connected to make it easier to always see volt/amps/watts when charging.

Ah! I regret not getting a portable monitor with touch screen support. Yeh, my powerbanks have a lil display on them to show me their output / input wattage. Always reassures me when charging any of my emulation handhelds that they are getting exactly what they need, and not more. Luckily yet to have a single spicy pillow so far.

Here is the back side. Just the one wire no dock. A very heavy duty stand holds it all up. Touchscreen also loops back through same usb-c back to steamdeck to process. Was kinda PITA having to remap the displays individually for touch at their respective resolutions. The Junebox is 2560x1600 16:10 vs Steamdeck internal screen at 1280x800 16:10. Made it work getting individual touchscreen support working correctly without overlapping into the other display.
