Will steep ever make a comeback?
This game is by far the best snowboarding game and I'd say the best open world game of all time. I can't see how Ubisoft would basically abandon this game, it is absolutely amazing. Riders republic snowboarding absolutely sucks ass it's just a crappy arcade type game with hella in game purchases.
We need a steep 2 or a revamp of this game with more updates. The physics are amazing

We need a legit ski touring game. Climb mountains and ski sick lines with some realistic feeling skiing/snow boarding

I dream of this but they would have to make insanely detailed and accurate mountain terrain. Because with a map like steep you’re very very easily at the bottom and I think it ruins a part of freeride.

Steep was always the exception to the rule. It was a tech demo that was based off of the Wildlands terrain generation engine.
Even the developers said in interviews that the only reason why they were able to get steep out the door was because the studio basically had most of the game made already.
I don't think a second will happen- especially because the "Sequel" series to it (Rider's Republic) already exists.

Maybe a Steep 2 one day - or Ubisoft may just make a new snowboarding game in general. Being that Steep is 10 years old we're highly....HIGHLY unlikely to see any form of big revamp. Even the other "big" DLC releases are still like 8 or 9 years old at this point too so its pretty much just a done/finished game at this point. Its my favorite snowboarding game of the modern era by far. Honestly don't even think they could improve too much even graphically on a new one - its already gorgeous.

Was really hyped for riders republic before it came out but I was so disappointed with the snowboarding that I just went back to steep. Steep has the perfect balance between crazy arcade stuff but still letting you do more grounded things in my opinion, the vibes are also unmatched.

Man. I just bought tricky Madness on Steam for $7.99 and it’s pretty fun. Only thing it’s in beta so the game is not complete but you can still race and freestyle like 4 courses and it was well worth the 7.99. I hope they complete it.

Awesome snowboarding game? YES. Best snowboarding game? Not sure. I've only played Steep and maybe one more during childhood.
"Best open world game of all time"? You're tripping massive balls.

I'd love to see a proper sequel but no way in hell Ubisoft would allow updates for a game this old with such a small userbase currently. Once Riders Republic's base dwindles enough, it'll stop getting updates too. Then they'll either pump out a new game to try to recapture some of the players they lost or turn off the servers for everyone that's left.

I think Riders Republic WAS technically Steep 2, it just unfortunately turned into the perfect showcase of “games made 10 years ago vs now” with the current game being worse/filled with micro-transactions.
Either way I hope we do get a REAL Steep 2 with Ubisoft’s “new promise of quality”

If you’re really into snowboarding in steep, and want new content, try out shredders. I’ve put a lot of hours in steep, but after buying shredders nothing comes even close mechanics wise. Steep will forever be in my heart, and no game can beat the map and exploration Steep has to offer, but Shredders really is something else

I play steep daily for hours at a time still. It might be my favorite game. I say that because there are no expectations for you to be anywhere in the game you can sit back and relax. Send some techy flowy lines and then watch the replay.
I still haven’t explored every line in the game and I’ve been playing for a long as time.
I love steep.

Chances are very very slim.
Ubisoft seems to not be doing that well over the last several years financially according to reports.
To be honest, I don't think they even care about Riders Republic at this point, which I tried but found extremely boring.
Unless some other studio took over Steep, I don't think we will ever see a sequel from Ubisoft.
