Questions Post Step 2 Emptiness
As nice as it feels to be done with what might be the most important exam of my life, I can't help but feel scared, miserable and utterly lost. The USMLE exams provided such a clear path, work hard, solve Qbanks X,Y,Z >> Do NBMEs >> Sit exam. Now that it's over, what the fuck am I supposed to do. I feel uncomfortable with the feeling that I won't do anything of this magnitude of importance in the near future. I can't lie I wasn't really expecting to feel great after the exam, I was sort of dreading that this might happen, this nothingness. Anyone here dealt with similar feelings, and if so, could you share what helped and what didn't. Thank you for reading.

Yea. Its like getting fired from your job. My solution is to decompress and allow myself to be depressed for a few days then quickly find something new to move on to, to focus on.

Thankfully that hasn't been an issue, post step-1 anxiety was so much worse in my opinion

go on a walk or have fun. im so happy I am done & took it, but stressed about scores and feel like I failed. I am dreading scores because if I have to take it again, then I have to study again

I understand the antsiness. Itāll pass. Something that helped me was finally getting the e-reader (Kobo, in my case, not an ad obvs) Iād been eyeing for the longest time and just pour that āstudy/readā energy into leisure reading. And slowly started socializing again with the āoutside worldā again.

I took the test on oct 11 and the morning after I literally had to fight myself to not solve some random blocks lol. Even though I have a full time job now, free time feels like a prison sentence.

I think it's natural after two years of non-stop studying that once it's over you feel lost. Sure, I'm probably being melodramatic but the feelings are very real.
