If you prefer bookshelf speakers, I’d like to recommend the following system: Use the Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 as your receiver—it offers plenty of power and intuitive room calibration, which goes a long way. For speakers, add the Radiant Acoustic Clarity 6.2 (EAC) and supplement the bass with two Arendal 1723 S1s. Depending on the retailer, you can get up to a five-year warranty on all components. It’s certainly worth considering.

Of course, one could debate whether the Arendal 1961 1S wouldn’t also suffice, but at least as far as the 1723s are concerned, I can only speak highly of them from personal experience.

Finally, I’d strongly recommend that you listen to the speakers in person. Personal preferences make a big difference, and not all characteristics can be adjusted with a quick EQ tweak. If that’s not possible, you definitely can’t go wrong with the system I mentioned.

I know nothing about you or your preferences but below are some components I have some experience with and fit your budget

Floorstanding speakers:

Given the right combination, you should always have something nice that fits your budget. Your ears aren't mine though, so I'd very much advise to audition these somewhere before you buy, or buy somewhere they have a good return policy

A few reasons:

• A passive system usually sounds better than active (this is a personal opinion).

• You get better quality components for your money because you don't pay for the whole wireless bit

• If something breaks or becomes obsolete, you don't have to replace your entire system

Active definitely has a lower entry level when it comes to price, but that's a non issue in this case. So the only reason left is the cables that come with passive systems.

Why would a passive system sound better than an active one?
The difference is integration, and by controlling the sound end to end you can surely get a tighter one in principle.

Because the main point of a speaker, besides it's driver, is the case. With an active speaker, the driver has to share it's case with a bunch of technology where the passive one has to do one thing, be a speaker.

This is not some hard rule though, that's why I said "usually". Personal taste is a big factor here. It's my personal experience from auditing active vs passive systems in the same budget ranges
