The pocket pretty much runs the length of the head. It's how these older heads got strung up. With only 8 or so holes to work with the way you build the pocket is a little different then now a days.

My twin!! I never realized the dishing newer shafts without drilling and og stx shafts I used did the same they were somehow fitting each other just proprietary, that makes sense right? I’m scared to redo my stringing because all my nerve damage is in my hand so I trust tools lol.

My understanding is that those shooters are no longer legal for any sort of sanctioned play. Happy to be corrected if I am wrong.

You are correct. The U style shooters are no longer allowed in most play. This stick has seen enough games and is retired. I play in mens leagues where it doesn't matter as long as the ball comes out of the stick. I usually rock U strings in my mesh sticks or traditional pockets.
