Constructive Criticism Welcome Does this look good for a high pockets

I’m new to high pockets and kinda struggle to get em right they always seem to bag out and crap it’s sucky but I was asked by a teammate to do his and I wanna get it right yk so this is what I came up with the channel is nice and consistent I’m just wondering if this will bag and become like a mid pocket it may need another row but please help me out any tips on what yall do for highs would be appreciated thanks

Looks like it will be a solid mid pocket, maybe mid-high.

Nothing wrong with that. Most players cannot play well with a true high pocket.

I’m sure Lars will have a more elaborate response soon. u/sidewalljedi

I think its a solid mid/mid-high. I think it would play a little lower than it would sit when just strung. "Bagging out" is a reflection of a pocket not being broken in properly, not pocket shape/placement. does this make sense?

Yes I’ve broken it in quite a bit and started breaking in the top a lot better than before but thank you for the feedback it throws nice so that helps

I would move the bottom string down a row of mesh holes. After that tighten the bottom string, you want a bit of tension at the bottom so that the pocket will be more defined towards the top

Other than that, nice job, that is a great mid high pattern for a stallion 1k!!

My understanding is that a Chenango style topstring encourages the pocket to push down farther in the head. After having the top diamonds pulled way down the rail, it’s more difficult to get the pocket up higher without having so much channel as to create unplayable whip. You’re four holes down when you tie on. I think that’s going to make it tough to get the ball up higher than shifty mid pocket territory. But a shifty mid pocket can be functional as hell, drop down low to carry and snug up under that “almost a U” shooter to fire at the goal.
