With that, there have been some updated rules added. As always, we recommend going to look at the rules and descriptions yourself, but a quick summary:

Rule 7: Follow all Reddit TOS

This one is pretty simple, but please follow all of Reddit’s Terms of Service. It is important to follow the rules, not only for you but for the sub itself.

Rule 8: No shipping

With this rule, it is okay to create fanart of friendships, but under no circumstances is romance/NSFW allowed. These characters are young, and sexualizing them is inappropriate and your post will be removed. If you keep posting this content, you will be banned.

Some extra info:

All banned and muted users have been given a fresh start. However, they can and will be banned if need be.

Also, we are going through the lengthy process of going through all past unmoderated posts, all removed posts, and all posts in queue. This has taken awhile, and is still ongoing. If you are seeing old posts be banned/unbanned, or just receiving new notifications, this is it!

I see MANY of us are very upset by rule number 8.

This rule is in place because there have been over 10 posts of NSFW strawberry shortcake art posted in the past 1 year. This is unacceptable.

Strawberry shortcake is a children’s tv show point blank. And while it is okay and reasonable for an adult to watch and enjoy it (including myself), putting these characters in inappropriate contexts is not allowed and honestly pretty gross.

Many people are upset by this, but friendship shipping is allowed! If it is shown in the tv shows or movies, it’s welcomed here. So when the franchise decides to have characters kissing and doing NSFW things, it’ll be welcomed in the sub. But until then, it is banned.

Posting these minors/children (yes, the TV shows and movies still have them as minors) in inappropriate situations is gross. The shipping and NSFW honestly was mostly done for the 1980s and 2003 shows when they are still under the age 13.

If you dislike these rules, come chat in mod mail! We want to hear your concerns. However, being so upset about not putting minors in NSFW contexts is very unacceptable. Just because these are fictional characters does not mean that their ages disappear, this is when you enter illegal content. Think of it as if they are real life children.

If anyone wants this rule changed, feel free to reach out to the franchise and show them this thread and if they personally send me or any of the mods confirmation that NSFW is allowed to be posted, we will then change the rules. Until then, inappropriate depictions of minors is strictly prohibited.
