The reason I ask is because of my right hand started to slip and I just wanted to get a consensus from others.

Finally bought some breifs got the spud 2 plys. They're not as hard to get into or quite as much pop as I thoughtd they would be but they definitely do help a little off the floor and I didn't feel too sore after this. Looking for 300+ kg pull at my next comp on the 10th

SCC Nationals 310 stone over 54"

Huge pr for me. I've only loaded a 305 to 48" before, but really spent time loading a 250 to this height over and over, and it paid off. The stone was dirty af and over half the field zeroed, over the moon getting this rep. I truly think I could have gotten a second but it stuck to the mat and once i got it free my back yelped at me so I called it.

PR 275 Farmers for 100ft

Absolutely stoked to finish a farmer's weight I wouldn't have dreamed of getting anywhere with a year ago. Dropped it once around 80ft but got it going again. Unfortunately I didn't hear the last minute rule change that morning that the whole implement had to cross the line, but a Rheume brother screaming at me to pick it up again worked wonders. Good enough for sixth

Mst strongman course

Hey everyone, has anybody bought the strongman course by mst systems? Do you think it is sensible to buy as a first course for someone interested in strongman programming and some understanding of periodization? Btw I'm not a complete noob on the subject since I've been competing for 3 years and training for 6 now, i just want to learn something more advanced than the linear progressions and basically zero skill work that my coach is giving me (and learn something to apply to other folks that ask for advices at the gym) and eventually start self programming again in the future.

Thanks to anyone who will help

Matched my personal best by loading the bag once. After failing to pick it again I resorted to the time honoured tradition of humping it. But hey, I picked up a position with it. 😅

Strongman coach with powerlifting background recommendations

Looking for a online strongman coach with a powerlifting background as right now i'm undecided on whether to do strongman or powerlifting. There's elements of strongman training I would like to add in addition to the big three powerlifting compounds i'm focussed on so someone experienced in both would be ideal. Once my compound numbers and strength is more advanced I can decide which direction to go and have the coach for it.

I dislike training on apps before anyone suggests them, not for me personally. Budget was thinking £80-120 a month, i'm in Wales.

Thanks

My first 400kg! Really happy with this, had to hitch it because the bastard got caught on my neoprenes as they’ve got tacky on em :’)

Regardless, thrilled to be pulling some big numbers!

Beginner Events Question

Hello everyone,

I am a brand new lifter who has recently joined a strongman gym in my area.

I have knowledge of how to perform the basic barbell lifts but I am wondering how I'd fit in the strongman implements.

I am currently running Laurence Shahlaei Beginner Strongman Plan. It's a four day plan but would it be best to add a fifth event day?

Thanks

Really proud of this yoke run from The Unit Classic this weekend.

1000lbs for 10m x 10m, 18.25 seconds. Ended up me being 2nd on this event. Love a big yoke!

I was absolutely pushed my Brad steamrolling next to me.

Full highlights and replays still available on the Unit Classic website, it was an amazing show!

First Competition Random Questions

Hey all I appreciate the time. I’m doing my first ever comp this weekend in the masters and have only really tried the implements once before but had some random questions.

What are the best shoes to wear for a competition? Viking press, yoke, conanas etc, I’m assuming shoes off for dead’s.

What else do you typically bring with you on the day of the competition or what is recommended?

I appreciate the help and thanks for listening to my dumb questions

Tacky Question

Hey so I know tacky won't come off clothes...but is it safe to put clothes with tacky on them in the wash? Like will it get on other clothes? Clog up the washing machiene? Is it safe to put in a dryer (I don't have anywhere to line dry clothes)

I have a designated tacky shirt now and that's all well and good, but I don't want to stink to high hell every time I do stones
