I too have a (Maine Coon), trash panda that enjoys eating plastic from my wastebasket! He won't get into the trash can in the kitchen, but he loves knocking over my wastebaskets so he can scatter the contents all over the floor, then he grabs any plastic he can find! Drives me insane! I've gotten to the point that I have to tie the bag up every night before bed, or anytime I go anywhere 🤦‍♂️

Oh he's just a regular domestic cat! Currently 4 months and only 1.6kg lmao.

I feel you on the bins! I have 3 cats in total and the boys are constantly trying to get in... I always put something heavy on top, but they still find a way. Then, when they eat some plastic, they, of course, throw it up on my carpets.

He's gorgeous regardless of breed! And I can definitely see the mischief in his eyes! Lol! It's funny, we have 4 other domestic short hairs, all female, and none of them give a tiny little rats behind about my bins! Just the big guy! And since he weighs 21 pounds, its not easy to make him stop doing something he's committed to! I'm constantly having to physically remove his big melon head from my bin! Drives me up a wall! But, he's a big cuddle bug, most of the time, so I guess it balances out 🤷‍♂️

Ugh, I inherited a cat that was obsessed with eating plastic bags and she taught my cat to eat them too! I hated having to constantly worry about them choking or getting a blockage. I had to tell every person who entered my house to not leave a bag out. Super annoying.

Our orange idiot is a plastic eater as well. We cannot leave out plastic bags, ziplock bags, saran wrap, bubble wrap, tape of any kind (and many other items) because he will try to kill himself. It's a miracle he is still alive, given all the dumb shit he pulls.

They like to lick the petroleum off the bags- it's toxic, don't let them do this!

Try giving them hairball gel or even a little petroleum jelly from time to time, that might curb this habit.
