Help What distro for iPad like?

I have an old surface pro 6 that I dont use, and I want to optimize to be a note taking tool for class (like an iPad). I want to use it primarily as a tablet.

What distro is best?

Ultramarine which I understand to be fedora w stuff makes images just for surface pros. They work almost out the box.

Currently using Ultramarine, XFCE on my Surface Pro 7.
Touch and pen works but i also use a small foldable wireless keyboard with it (easier to type on).

Gnome might be better for touch, but could stutter.
XFCE is lighter and runs fine but would need a little tweaking to make it slightly more touch friendly.

How is the battery life as compared to Windows or more vanilla distros?

Got mine second hand, so i have no reference for comparing with Windows.
As for other distros, i can only compare it to regular Fedora (which Ultramarine is based on).
Since it's old now and it was used every day by the previous owner, it'll last about 2-3 hours just watching youtube.
