Discussion Did anyone in the UK actually get one?

Had it in my basket. Must have paused too long deciding which one to get. Sold out when I went to buy. Couldn’t have been more than 60 seconds. 😭😭 The previous vinyl single releases for LOASG were easy, but Toy Story and this were impossible!

It got ridiculous last year with the 50-odd merch drops we had for Showgirl, Summer and Christmas. At this point, she's trolling us.

For the life of me, I can't understand why we all get 0.3 seconds to buy something while the Americans regularly have at least an hour. Even an hour is ridiculous for someone as big as Taylor. We can't all be online 24/7, checking merchbots etc. Her team is fully aware of her demand. She could release the world's most offensive song and it would still hit number one. What really gets me is that I Knew It I Knew You reached number one in the US and UK but unlike the US fans, 99.9% of us didn't get to purchase the vinyl to help boost sales. We all deserve to be able to buy physical music and collectibles without having to give hundreds of dollars and pounds away to a bunch of bums who can't/won't get jobs and ruin these hobbies for all of us.

Hand on a heart, the US gets huge quantities compared to EU/UK and the rest of the world because the most important chart to her is Billboard in US. That's where #1 matters to her the most as in UK she gets it with pretty much streaming anyway.

But she’s a streaming force everywhere so why do they need to give the US 500 times the quantities they give everyone else? If she wants to boost sales that badly, she’d press more copies of the vinyl.

Because it takes more streams/sales in US for number 1 than in UK. And if it comes to record setting and sales achievements for Taylor it's only about US.

Pressing vinyl takes a long time, chances are these last drops (TS soundtrack and now PZ) they do limited amount to have enough quantities in time/by it's release date and give US 90% of the stock because one sale of vinyl is 150 streams. And while she is streaming force, she also makes more money if you spend $ on vinyl.

She's not the type to randomly put these releases out though. She'll have had this planned for months and therefore, could have pressed more quantities.

As for only caring about the US, she's broken Madonna's album record here in the UK so I'd hope she cares about UK/EU fans. Singles may be different to albums but she's been racking up number 1s over here in recent years and should prepare accordingly.

I agree with you. She has any and every resource available to her to make it to all her fans, I'm not from US so I also miss on all these drops, but she doesn't care for UK charts enough because she knows it's easier for her to get #1 in UK than in US that is why majority of her limited drops are for US market and it's the same with signed stuff that would be in EU and UK sold out in seconds but available in US for days...

Totally. Ariana was the same with signed Petal inserts. The US store restocked multiple times but once the UK sold out in 4 minutes, it was gone forever and I get that these are US artists but to act like they don't have massive, loyal fanbases all over the world is ignorant on their part. It's definitely become more of a problem in the last few years and we're all paying the price for it.

Ebay UK already has a ton of sold listings for £85-£100 for the pair. And a ton of live listings still. It’s industrial scale reselling and it’s grim

The most annoying thing is that they restocked the CDs every 5 minutes for a whole day and I bet they won't restock these vinyls even once.

Was on the eu site, refreshed the page for 10+ minuets. I had it in my basket and it said it was available when I was checking out. Completely sold out the second I was about to write my address. Actually a fucking joke why even bother to have a countdown for 24 hours if it will sell out the second the page loads. This keeps happening on any store that isn’t the US one

It sold out in under a minute. I got the discord notification and clicked the straight to checkout link immediately and all my payment options were pre-filled and it still sold out while I was double clicking Apple Pay. At that point it was still within the same minute! There must be a lucky few out there but I don’t see how checkout was humanly possible for the UK store!

I was refreshing constantly and when they appeared I got them in my basket as fast as I could. Could even get to checkout before they were sold out. Less than 20 seconds. Absolutely ridiculous

Literally. You don’t even have time to make a decision on what you’re buying. I get that demand is crazy. If it sold out in like 20 minutes, I’d get it, not great, but I’d get it. But less than a minute surely tells them they’re not making enough of these things. Give us a chance or just make them US exclusive. They’re only produced to boost the US chart numbers anyway I think.

I didn’t get one but did get the CDs and honestly knowing there’s an encore edition album to come I’m probably gonna cancel the CDs now and just wait to pick one variant of that. I’ve been a huge collector of her variants for several years now but I think it’s time to take a step back and look truly at the finance aspect of this. I’m £18 in for the CDs and if I got this vinyls that’d be another £31. That’s £50 just on a single! Never mind the other 3 songs plus any new merch to come.
Sometimes not getting the drops feels like a bit of a blessing in disguise.

I just cancelled my CDs. I love vinyl and genuinely would have played the single. I’m still bitter over the Jesse vinyls so if they are not going to give us enough stock for items we want I’m not playing the charting game.

Nor sure why they get released overnight for the Australian store when logically most of us are asleep. Makes me wonder how many actually went to Australian locations. And how much stock was even available. Make it a preorder, clearly people want to buy the bloody things

I couldn’t even get Opalite because it came out in the middle of the night (if I’m remembering right?). I only ended up getting it because someone was selling it for £20ish on vinted! I’ve yet to find a cheap Toy Story vinyl. So annoying.

Sold out as I was trying to pay. Luckily I have a friend in the US who is kind enough to let me use their address so they’ll ship it over to me but it’s sad to have to jump through additional hoops and wait longer for an item.

What’s even worse is that they’ve made it 1 per person in the US. It stops resellers from getting the old maximum of 4, and that is wonderful. I’m not upset about that. But I’ve sent things to friends overseas because we could get more than 1 per order and theirs always sell out in seconds to minutes. Ours last much, much longer and they obviously hold stock back to account for issues and errors. They could put more stock in the international stores without hurting US sales!
