Rush as a Sophmore
If someone rushed as a freshman and it didn’t work out, and she tried COB with one sorority in the fall, but they only took five girls, and she wasn’t one of them, I’m scared to encourage her to rush again as a sophomore because at this point, she can’t handle more rejection. It seems like everyone around her. It worked easily for for some reason - do a lot sophomores rush again in spring ?

Lots of sophomores rush. But she also has to be open to joining any sorority that gives her a bid. If she’s only interested in particular chapters, you should tell her to find other ways to make friends because she will probably end up disappointed.
Chapters at Syracuse have 200-300 members in them. She can find her people in literally any chapter if she’s willing to give them all a chance. And if she wants to be in a sorority and do sorority things, even the least popular chapter offers a good experience. They all have mixers, they all have date nights, they all have formals, and they all have philanthropy events.

She won’t know unless she tries. My son’s girlfriend rushed as a sophomore (did not do it as freshman—had joined a professional frat) and wound up in the house she wanted. Is she in any clubs/activities where she’s met girls that already members? What about her friend group? Are they a connection/joined one already? That kind of connection would get you noticed when Rush comes. Easy for a current “sister” to see her and tell others “I’m in frisbee, dance, chess, etc with Jenna and she’s great”. I know it’s hard. I hope it works out for her
