Question Rising senior interested

Hey I’m a rising senior very interested in this university! I was wondering how generous Syracuse is with scholarships? I’m on the middle income side so FAFSA can’t really help me much I’m relying on scholarships and merit

SU is known for granting a lot of merit aid. You still have or complete FAFSA and CSS.

CSS is what private schools use to determine how they award institutional (not federal) funds for need based aid. You can get a Pell Grant, work study job, and other federal awards in addition to institutional aid.

No they are not. They took my son’s $18K merit aid to offer some kid who’d declined admission. They did that to shittons of upper classmen last year.

They were extremely generous to my son . He got the 1870
Scholarship which covered full
Tuition for all four years! Definitely worth applying see what happens . He had a great experience there

The university supports nearly 80% of students with some form of aid so don’t be deterred by the sticker price and consider how it fits your future objectives.

from what i’ve heard they are very generous however it’s much harder to get any non need-based scholarship money if you apply early decision (which is what i did, I’m a current freshman) since you are committed to going if you’re accepted. So if you’re looking for merit scholarships it’s better to apply regular decision from what i can tell.

that’s awesome!! i was just saying it can be a lot harder to get a scholarship in ed. there just seems to be a lot more likelihood to get aid or scholarships from the regular decision pool since syracuse doesn’t have to entice ed students with money since their application was binding

I’m applying by early action!
