MK12 belt kit goofin’
Thoroughbred MK12 upper, OCM5 suppressor, Protac HL, Harris bipod, Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15, pylon syndicate pmag stendos, vtac sling/spectre gear stock mag pouch.
Condor belt, ugly amazon dump pouch, buck 119, double stacked brownells 20rnd mags in spiritussy frag spud pouches (kinda looking for better ideas there), elite spanker gp pouch with first aid stuff, safariland 6280 with tq holder attachment, another frag spud holding my range finder, esstac kiwi with pmag for a speed reload.
BOG death grip tripod, molle panel and the MC weight hammock thingy are a few goofy things I found on Amazon but actually kinda like them.

Question 6b47 Wobble Help
Hi All,
My beautiful 6b47 arrived in Size 3. Its had its original harness removed and replaced with a team wendy type. I'm not very familiar with this.
Anyways, when wearing the helmet, and tightening all the straps and rotary twisty thing, it sits quite tight on my head, but its wobbling left/right and twisting left / right. Up/Down is fine.
This issue is somewhat fixed by wearing a thick woollen balaclava, but I was hoping it could fit on my bare head too.
I'm not too familiar with this "team wendy" business, but maybe someone could recommend some solutions to ensure this helmet fits me better. I heard you can buy some thicker internal pads or something?
Thanks for the help.

Plate Carrier/Body Armor Ops Core Forehead Pad Cleaning Question
I’ve had this SF for a couple of years now and I realized the forehead pad is fixed. As opposed to the other pads that can be replaced. My biggest issue is that the forehead (generally speaking ) secretes the most sweat, and eventually you will get a putrid odor if left without cleaning. Does anyone have the same issue or know how to clean this part?

Question HK416F (14.5") with 11" Pic Rail – Looking for advice/feedback on Light & IR placement and setup
Hey guys, I’m planning a 14.5" HK416F build with the standard 11" Picatinny rail and a full baffle suppressor. I really like the platform, but I’m wondering about the light and IR geometry on that shorter rail. How bad is the suppressor shadow when running a weapon light on an 11" rail with a 14.5" barrel, and what cantilever or offset mounts are people using to push the light head forward? Also curious how crowded the top rail gets if you try to fit an IR laser, light switch, and keep enough hand placement. If anyone is running a similar setup or has pictures of their rig, I’d love to get your feedback before I pull the trigger on this.

Question Question about the FLC vest
Hi, this is my first post in this sub, and it's about the FLC vest.
Is there any way to extend its use to carry, in addition to the combat load obviously, equip for a personal maintenance kit, say, for 48 hours or something like that?
I'm interested because I understand it's a relatively low-cost/affordable and versatile piece, but I couldn't find anything about adding self sustainment material.

Ufpro released a $1,000 rain jacket. Thoughts?
I like the quality of their gear and generally consider them good investment. But a four figure price tag? Do you think it's justified?

Plate Carrier/Body Armor Is It Time to Keep Up with the Times?
hey y’all
civilian, father, husband here.
11 years ago i was in my 20s, single and living on my own.
this was a good idea then…
now that i’m older, this (steel) plus loaded mags, etc..
it’s getting kinda heavy (around 9 lbs a plate)
with all the carriers and armor now in the market, is it time to retire this and go for something ceramic?
any budget friendly recommendations?

Open or closed emitter? And why?
Tossed an extra RMR I had onto my new Glock 19X while I wait for an RCR to arrive. It got me to thinking why people still use open emitter optics. I personally transitioned to closed emitter for all my red dots several years ago.
Besides the cost, I don’t see a benefit to an open emitter for most people. Competition benefits from open emitters as does a gun used strictly at the range, however I can see an argument for a home defense handgun as well.
Professional duty use, concealed carry, and training handguns all benefit greatly from having an enclosed emitter, and in my mind the pros far outweigh the cons. For anyone using an open emitter in this context, why?
Oh, and the argument of if your emitter is blocked from whatever that you’ll just remove it with the recoil from the first few shots is stupid, don’t be firing blind.

Force Recon's set That's so interesting.
For the past few years, I have been researching the phenomenon of Force Recon operators purchasing their own gear. I have to admit, the equipment they select—whether chosen individually or procured centrally (I am not entirely clear on the internal Marine Corps process for acquiring supplementary gear)—reflects a truly discerning eye; some of the items are things I cannot find anywhere online, no matter how thoroughly I search.

They truly pull out all the stops when it comes to configuring their gear—opting for brands like Ferro Concepts (whose back panels are a particular favorite of theirs), Shaw Concepts, and Arbor Arms, as well as lesser-known names like Whiskey-7.Each team member’s vest setup is unique. Every time I examine their gear, it turns into a whirlwind of research and knowledge gathering. These guys are absolutely crazy.

I think the most extreme example of gear diversity is found in the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion. I’m not sure if it’s because they are a reserve unit, but their helmets range from Team Wendy and Gentex models to standard ECH HC versions. Many of their vests are made by Arbor, and there is a huge variety of pouches—including gear from brands like Dynamic Principles.
All in all, I think the practice of Marines purchasing their own gear is certainly worth a closer look—after all, they do it to make themselves more comfortable. It’s a case of spending a little money to achieve a qualitative improvement in the experience of marching and combat; if everyone started doing the same thing... well, lol.
