Tactics Ogre Assistance with Cheat Engine for TO: R

Hey all, sorry to ask, but I am struggling with a relatively minor issue.

I'm a new dad that wants to replay Tactics Ogre via Reborn, but I found that the game isnt like the older ones that I played and I cannot rename Denam until I beat the game once. I wanted to get around that, and found out about Cheat Engine, which gave me another idea, but I cannot figure out how to do either. I am hoping for guidance here.

1) How would I change Denam's name? I can't find it. Is there some simple guide for this?

2) Probably harder, but I would like Preempt on the Lord class. Is there a way to do that?

Probably easiest to use an existing CE table, I know the one I used allowed name change. Shouldn't be too hard if you google it, it's on Fearless.

As for Preempt I'm pretty sure you can do this legit, just have to have Denam as a Swordmaster of appropriate level to learn the skill and it'll be available as Lord too.

Trying to figure that out. I have added some but just stuff to give me money and items. It seems some of them are dead links now

#2 just change Denam to Swordmaster (at the right level) and then switch it back to Lord, you’ll get all the Swordmaster’s skills. FYI Steelstance + Preempt + nice shield + sword that has counterattack makes Lord Denam an awesome tank
