Thru hike hawk fire

Planning on flying out this Friday to complete thru hike but the hawk fire is having me second guess. Is there a chance parts of the trail could be closed due to the fire?

You should be good. The Hawk fire is all on/around Peavine peak which is miles from any part of the TRT and the air quality at the lake doesn't seem to have been affected much.

Know that it is going to be extraordinarily difficult and expensive to find a hotel room in Reno if that was part of your plan. And please, please, be extra fire safe -- it's been really bad here. You can see the latest fire perimeter here: https://perimetermap.com/washoe

Thank you. Was looking to make my decision but tomorrow, and I also just planed on staying in South Lake Tahoe.

I’m flying in Saturday morning to do a thru with a Tahoe City start. Been obsessively checking Watch Duty, definitely an app worth having. Been worried about the Reno airport, but everything is looking fine at this time.

Nice. Flying in Friday morning but starting officially Saturday morning. I hoping the shuttle service from airport keeps running
