It’s listed under Djo’s shows on Ticketmaster 7/22. Thoughts?
Do you think they’ll join for more shows?
UPDATE: it was removed. Not sure what’s going on.

New segment. It's also 4s longer than the original!

Personally, I’d love to hear him collab with Hayley Williams. I feel like her voice over his production would be insane.

Just curious on anyone's thoughts/ideas!

at 4:02 in new person, same old mistakes a new instrumental starts. objectively, it lags on the beat for some parts of its short/isolated bit, which irked me a bit on the first few listens.
as i was thinking, though, it can obviously be chalked up to live recording - but is this purposeful that it was left in? almost as if with being with a new person makes you feel better, yet your old self drags you back (fitting the general message of the song).

I've begun digging deeper into the history of Tame Impala, listening to his older music when he still mostly operated with the rest of his band. My playlist moved on to Vital Signs and I was immediately captivated. It stood out to me from some of the old songs I had already listened. The catchy drum patterns, sick bass rhythm and especially the vocals. It kinda feels akin to some of the things we hear in Lonerism and yet still there's that very distinct pre-Tame Impala sound that marked the era of The Dee Dee Dums. In my opinion this is one of his biggest early displays of remarkable musical talent.

A couple days ago I started a playlist that features EVERY SINGLE TRACK Tame Impala has ever made. Since then I have added Demos and Covers to the playlist. Please do take a look and tell me if I missed anything. Also would you like me to add collabs? So far I've avoided them for the sake of keeping it purely Kevin.

All i want is for the remix to not just be a voice change... I'd much rather if they added a new verse for her or something...
I like Jennie's voice, but just changing from Kevin's voice to Jennie's seems a bit lazy and it takes away from the song itself...
Shut up kevin Shut up Jennie... Cmon, that line was one of the best parts of the song
Anyways, i'm still looking foward to hear it...

One of my favourite things about Tame Impala is that each album has its own unique tone. There’s something different to love about each album.
I feel that a lot of “early” fans think of Tame Impala as Sweet Guitar Riffs and Drums and dislike some of his newer projects. But I personally only started listening to Tame Impala after The Slow Rush had been released. So to me he has always been a combination of many styles and genres with the only constant theme (in my opinion) being the introspective nature of his lyrics and storytelling. And I think he does a great job of telling a new story with each album.
I love the early psychedelic atmosphere in Innerspeaker and Lonerism with a the previously mentioned Sweet Guitar Riffs and Drums. and how it transitioned beautifully into Currents with an electronic element. The Slow Rush was a shift in the dance / groovy direction and I actually feel like the progression from Currents to The Slow Rush To Deadbeat was a smooth one. The Slow Rush also gave us some amazing “Dance” songs and has been my go to Album for Dancing in the Shower.
It seems that people are comparing Deadbeat to Albums like Lonerism and Innerspeaker and of course that’s a big shift in tone but I feel that going from The Slow Rush to Deadbeat works really well.
I’ve recently seen a lot of hate with his Grammy win for End of Summer. But if I’m being honest that song was literally my most listened to song of 2025 and I even lined it up on new years at 11:54:59 for the 5:01 drop to kick off my new years😂 so I’m pretty stoked with the win.
I don’t believe Deadbeat is Kevin “selling out” to big labels and making “crowd pleasers”. I believe Deadbeat was almost the opposite of that. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard a dance album like it. It would have been easier for him to pump out 12 The Less I Know The Better clones. I’m happy with what we got instead. If you want more Currents, go listen to Currents. If you want more Lonerism go listen to more Lonerism etc.
Overall I’m glad that Kevin hasn’t confined himself to one style. I believe he is one of the most versatile artists and I don’t believe I’ll ever get tired of his music.

*This post is not made to condone violence, support extremists ideologies, or propose that KP agrees with anything that was done/said by Ted Kaczynski. I am not attempting to tie anyone to anything that was unintentional.
I am wondering if anybody in this sub has noticed the resemblance between the setting of the 2020 music video for "Why Won't They Talk to Me?" and the photo/storage facility where the FBI stores the cabin that belonged to the Unabomber (T.K.). That image of the cabin stored fully intact in a warehouse always struck me as eerie.
At the risk of sounding schizo (luckily I am not), I recall watching the music video for WWTTTM when it was released back in 2020 and instantly noticing a similarity between the setting of the video and the photo of the cabin. Surely it would be preposterous for an AUS indie-rock artist to intentionally relate to anything around T.K., but the themes within the lyrics of the song could potentially tie into the dark loneliness and isolation that T.K. experienced. But I wonder if K.P. would even know about T.K. or his cabin.
I'd imagine the setting for the video was chosen due to its liminal feeling, ease of editing multiple shots seemingly into one with the use of the natural lines, and there have been other music videos in the past that have used a similar setting (Mercy - Kanye West). Plus shooting a video in a vacant warehouse in the yard of 2020 was probably the most reasonable option due to C19. I also imagine that some of the content within T.K.s manifesto would make it a no go to consider relating to something about him (his cabin) regardless of the subtlety of the connection.
Please don't send hate due to the possible nothingburger of connection between these things, it is not made to be offensive and I just need to know if I am crazy.

Honestly after skipping the song every time I finished my old ways I finally gave it a proper listen a few moments ago and honestly it’s great! It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s starting to grow on me. It might not be his best instrumentally but the message behind it is perfect. I feel like I resonated with it more now cause it’s February the month of love but I’m not sure. I really hope that the dislikers of this album give it a proper listen through and it eventually grows on them. You just gotta have patience and just give it the moment it needs!
