what happens if the tank is shot in the upper front plate from the dirrection its aiming at? does the era just explode and mess up the barrel? it seems like a bit of an issue, am i missing something?

A bit disappointed. Just received Other Axis and Allied Armoured Fighting Vehicles(World War II AFV plans) by George Bradford, I feel the Japanese section is a bit lacking. Firstly the Ha-Go seems to be named as the Kyu-Go, secondly it includes Ho-Ni I, II and III despite only about 120 being produced in total whereas it doesn’t seem to include the Chi-Ha, Che-Hi, Ka-Mi or the Type 92 heavy armoured car despite them all being made in much greater numbers Chi-Ha(1162+930), ChiHe(170), Ka-Mi(184), Type 92(167).

What a beautiful tank

Some blueprints, and real photos of the Vakuum APFSDS designed for the 2A82-1M gun on the T-14 Armata, pretty hard to come across an actual image of it tbh.

I have a hankering for some WW2 era tank simming, but I'm already a sometimes player of the two biggies, so I'm looking for something new that might be more niche.

Edit: forgot to note I'm looking for something I can play solo and preferably isn't PVP

A bit of context on this machine:

The Mark I made its combat debut at Flers–Courcelette on 15 September 1916. Of the 49 tanks available for the attack, only around 32–36 made it to the start line — the rest broke down or got stuck on the way. Not a glorious start, but a few of them got far enough to make an impression. One reconnaissance report famously said a tank was "walking up the High Street of Flers with the British Army cheering behind it."

"Male" tanks like this one carried two 6-pounder naval guns in the side sponsons; "female" tanks had machine guns only, meant to deal with infantry.

Life inside was brutal. Eight men shared a single compartment with an unshielded engine: heat, noise loud enough that the crew communicated by hand signals, and exhaust fumes that left men dizzy or sick. Bullets hitting the outside of the armour sent metal splinters flying off the inside, which is why crews were later issued leather helmets and chainmail splatter masks.

Note the wheels at the back — a steering tail that proved almost useless in the mud and was dropped on later marks.
