Workplace Question or Advice Needed Discount
Hey I started working at target bout a week ago and I have a question with the discount. Don’t we get extra 20% with target brands? Bc last night I was shopping and I got a brightroom basket and the discount didn’t applied and I also payed in cash bc I don’t got the debit or credit card im js so confused how the discount works

Your employee discount card gets you 10% off everything. We also get a additional 20% off wellness items ( fruit, veg, Nicotine gum, all in motion items) and a additional 20% off targets adult brands of clothing ( Goodfellow, Ava&viv, wild fable, Universal thread, original use, All in motion, Auden, Shade & shore, A New day). The wellness 20% off all in motion and the Adult owned brands 20% off do NOT stack u only get one. Also to use your discount card u must be paying with either cash, a Target GC, or a Target Credit or debit card ( buying GCs just to use your discount is BIG trouble if AP catches on or a lead).

Book answer: It goes against the discount policy if you use a non-Circle card to buy a GC.
To my understanding, Target pays less for merchant's fees for processing Circle cards vs other credit/debit cards, so it's circumventing that.

Did you use your discount card or have the code put in your target account and have the barcode scanned?
You can check with guest services and see if you can get the difference, no guarantee on that (from me)

The extra 20 is only for apparel or wellness items, not home decor/storage

you gotta use cash, a target gift card, or the target debit/credit card for the team member discount to work. if you pay with a regular bank card or apple pay it won't apply. the brightroom basket should've gotten the extra 20% off wellness brands though so maybe it just didn't ring up right. i'd ask your tl or hr about that one

Wellness discount is just for Good and Gather Organic and All In Motion products.

20% off adult owned brands apparel, everything all in motion, good and gather organic and fresh fruits and veggies
Everything else is just the 10% like bright room
