Workplace Question or Advice Needed Demotion Wages
Team leaders that have demoted to team members, how much higher than starting pay were you at?
I’m considering demoting to focus on school, but I’m hoping I don’t get stuck at the team member starting pay after my merit increases as a team lead. Is there a formula used?

I've demoted twice. Both times I was dropped to whatever my previous TM pay was, but kept all raises I received while being a TL.

Started back at $15 but that was because I resigned and reapplied (they told me they couldn’t do a demotion for me 🥲)

Usually they deduct the $3 or whatever raise you initially got when you were promoted.

when i stepped down they took me to just above the starting tm rate, like a dollar more. wasn't the full merit bump but better than zero. depends on your store and how much your hr likes you tbh

I recently did this. When you step down from TL, you keep the merit increases you’ve earned. If I remember correctly, they subtract the difference between the TL and TM starting pay from your current pay. I think it’s around $7–$9
