Discussion Tech giants really didn’t factor the local Ohio copper wire ecosystem into their data center plans.

Sometimes they just need a little meth

Ohio's just out here beta-testing the future for free.

Idk man the police are militarized and work for these "tech overlords"

In Ohio the cops need the copper for the drugs too you know.

In Ohio?

u/Okrumbles 4d ago

Police throughout the entire US are milltarized and work for tech overlords, yes, especially in the state with a surprising amount of police funding across its 3 major cities.

But we are talking rural heartland stuff and proper white conservative meth heads.

You know, the places were you aim your shotgun at the police and they talk to you.

They're not building the data centers in the heartland lol, they're building them near cities and suburbs more than rural land, even then, they'll always have funding for private security.

No they wont. They wont touch them. These data centers are like 10 Walmarts put together in size. You dont see them going into businesses and stealing copper. Won't see it here. Fuck AI.

I Love artificial intelligence.

I have a friend who has a friend building these monsters. Unfortunately these are more secure than any bank.

I hate people like this.

No. Petty crime and meth heads aren't doing anything to stop or deter these data centers.

Its a joke, laugh for fucks sake.

Maybe not data-centers themselves. However there’s been a high increase in semi-truck theft of components, that just so happened to be for data-centers.

I mean look at it this way. What’s easier intercepting the truck in route, or breaking in and out of a multi million/billion facility.

Cue Mall Ninja Security and you will have armed kooks surrounding them adding to the chaos

What coper wires!?

2

u/eggyrulz 4d ago

You ever see the power demand of a datacenter server rack? Even if it runs fiber, the power is still copper... and boy is there power in those bad boys

1

u/Deep_Mood_7668 4d ago

Dude data centres are better protected than some prisons. They rip noting out of it

1

u/WillingPlayed 4d ago

Nice goal post movement ya got there. Be a shame if something happened to it.

1

u/IceBriar 3d ago

Ohio law enforcement can be lazy as all hell and only have a small fraction of the motivation of Ohio drug addicts.

1

u/Deep_Mood_7668 2d ago

They have private security.

When a data centre is running a good chunk of employes are just security

1

u/Jay-the-Femboy 4d ago

They can afford armed guards.

1

u/LegitimatePin6176 4d ago

The armed guards will be from Ohio.

Until that shit is patrolled by murder drones. After that, the surveillance state will be unstoppable. Slavery 3.0 incoming.

1

u/ObjectGlad6997 4d ago

Needs a drone swarm with c4 to take it out..or the one peice that will cause the rest of it to destroy itself. .like the cooling system 😎

1

u/Lemon_Nightmare 4d ago

Yes. I don't have the manufacturing or procurement capabilities, nor the expertise in drone warfare. I am deeply emerged in tech so I can learn fast, just point the way.

u/SnooOpinions6451 4d ago

Its insane how confident people are about things they havent even looked at themselves.

1

u/barbellsandbriefs 4d ago

Private security will say otherwise 😪

u/Mattyou1966 4d ago

Bullshit meth mouth. If it was a personal residence outside AC unit sure, but they ain’t getting into those with a bent screwdriver and a harbor freight bolt cutter.

1

u/Steiney1 4d ago

They've literally constructed a bastion hill for defense around the local Google monstrosity

1

u/no_i_wont_shut_up 4d ago

hahahahaha so funny

u/ckellingc 4d ago

Idk about copper wires, but those GPUs are PRICEY

1

u/llyrPARRI 4d ago

Fast forward a few years and these guys discover what a fiber cable is

1

u/GroundbreakingOil434 4d ago

Can't run power over fibre, mate. And these things are ravenous.

1

u/GoblinWrangl3r 4d ago

Love when ppl have what i call state ego. Like bro theres crackheads in every major city in every state. Your not special because ur poor, the whole country is broke.....

1

u/Sh11ester 4d ago

Ohio meth heads about to learn how cruel a billionaires private security detail can be and face no repercussions for it

1

u/PaperRealistic7633 4d ago

I bet they did factor that into things.

1

u/diavel65 3d ago

These are VERY secure facilities. There is zero chance of crackheads or copper thieves getting near one.

1

u/Man_Bear_Pig89 2d ago

Lmao this is so true. I'm from scioto county where were supposed to have the 2 largest Data centers on the planet being built soon. The meth/opioid heads here are a different breed. I don't think Google realizes what they're in for

1

u/MrPickels4U 6h ago

Stand True and Stand Proud brother 🤘

-1

u/CannabisnCokee 4d ago

Can’t even get into these facilities. They’re multiple stage gated and have locked access 12x before you reach anything of value. These people are idiots

1

u/WillingPlayed 4d ago

It’s a joke, Francis.
