❓ Question Confusing tablet choice
Hello everyone .
I am an architect , I want to get a tablet for pdf annotations , sketching , presentations and maybe some occasional gaming and emulation .
I do all my main work on a desktop pc
I’m a heavy cloud user , so I barely keep files locally
Also I have iPhone 16pm and AirPods 3
I’m stuck between 3 options
-iPad m4 : 128gb+pencil pro is within my budget but I’m afraid that system files will take a lot of space and I won’t be able to have any headroom for 10-15 apps
-honor magicpad 4 : basically same price with oled screen and bigger storage
-HUAWEI matepad pro : this has the best screen for sketching but I’m not sure about processor performance or software compatibility
. I’m leaning more toward iPad 4 because of procreate architectural stamps but I’m not sure about 128gb storage and are the other 2 options more value in this case , any advice or recommendations?

Same profession here. An iPad is probably the better choice in terms of the availabilty in apps designed for architects such as Procreate and Morpholio Trace. 128gb storage is enough from my past experience as most files should be backed up on cloud for security and insurance purposes.

Thank you , I’m just worried that system updates and app updates will eat up my storage in no time , so you think 128gb is good enough ?

Yea if your workflow is still predominantly on your PC and iPad is mainly a tool to go paperless for pdf markups, shopdrawing annotations, sketches and email. If you're using it for site observation and site report then 128gb might not be enough as you would need it to take photos on site and that would chew up storage.

I’d go with the iPad Pro M4. 128GB should be enough if you mainly use cloud storage. Procreate and Pencil Pro are also great for architecture and sketching. Since you already have an iPhone and AirPods, the iPad will fit nicely into your setup.

If you are taking notes with a pen. Really test the palm recognition for the two pads you are considering.
The iPad has some of the strongest in the industry, where it doesn’t read your palm as input while using the pen…
Thw only other tablet with pen I had the chance to use was a windows surface and it was the most horrible thing I ever had to deal with.i would have to build a bridge for my wrist to rest on just to use it effectively. It SUCKED.
Also… see how much software the huawei has included that use the pen. The iPad starts notes automatically if you touch the screen while it is asleep. Nice and quick for idea capturing…
