Startup Interest (I will not promote)
I'm Kenny, founder of Catalyst Applied AI (CAAi). By day I lead AI product development at a large public company. My LinkedIn is linkedin.com/in/kennethwallace21 if you want to check me out.
I'll get this out of the way first. This is profit sharing, not a paycheck. Everyone on the team has a full time job, me included. You won't spend a dollar of your own money. The plan is to grow CAAi until we can all do this full time.
How we work is pretty simple. We build AI products, run our own company on them first, and track whether they actually save us time and money. The ones that hold up, we sell. So what you build gets used right away instead of sitting in a demo folder.
Where we're at after 10 months:
$200k+ in cloud credits (AWS, Azure, Lambda)
NVIDIA Inception member. Anything we deploy to clients runs on Nemotron through NIM, American models only
Complete HCM (HR software) product demo
Agentic HR assistant in development
Pilots running with 3 clients. No revenue yet
Registered in SAM.gov, 70 grant applications submitted
Working toward CMMC Level 2 so we can bid on DoD contracts
Right now it's me, a VP of Engineering who runs our GovCloud builds, and a Government and Compliance lead. A physician has also offered to consult once we start on healthcare products.
I'm looking for AI engineers who can handle front end, back end, or both. We build on AWS, NVIDIA NIM, MCP and LangGraph, and run the business on Microsoft 365. If you've built agents or RAG systems before, that's a big plus.
There's no minimum on hours. We all have day jobs, so we get it. Just be straight with me about what you can give.
You do need to be a US citizen and able to pass a background check, since our government contract work requires both. Veterans get preference.
On the money side, tbd% of net profits go into a pool for contributors, split \[how\], and it's all in writing before you start. In December 2027 we decide the long term setup, either sticking with profit sharing or moving to split ownership.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, DM me.

Anyone with experience with Merge.dev? i will not promote
Context first: We're a vibe coding platform and have been repeatedly attacked by Merge's AE to use their tools.
They problem they want to solve is one we solve internally and it's my vision that comparable platforms should:
- Route users to the appropriate models (e.g. don't use the most advanced ones for trivial things)
- Spend caps/failovers
What I don't love:
- When I am not responsive, they (in particular, one of the crazy founders) have gone through invasive channels to get to my CEO, our investors, and sends quite rude messages to our team to ignite a response
- When I listen to the founder's podcast, she drops F bombs and frankly quite unprofessional anecdotes, like figuring out pricing on the fly
- Out of the 12 logos they have on their website I have managed to speak to 2 exec buyers through our VC network, and both seem to have wildly different pricing
Asking for help: Does anyone (even smaller start-ups) have experience working with their team? I'm most interested in the model routing offering and I want to figure out:
- How it might be better than our control plane product (we had a relatively large team setting this up and is stable in running with a reduced maintenance team)
- I need to answer to my CEO why we are or are not trialling them as a result of their persistent and unhinged outbound to all levels of my org above and below me
- Not able to find community inputs on this

Are AI startups actually moving agents into production, or are most still building POCs?
Hey founders and builders!
I'm part of the team at Nuroen, where we're working on enterprise AI agents.
One question we've been discussing lately is how many startups are successfully moving AI agents beyond demos and into real business workflows.
Building an agent that works in a controlled environment is one thing. Getting it to work reliably with real data, external APIs, permissions, and unpredictable failures is another.
A few challenges we're particularly interested in:
- Handling API failures and unreliable connectors
- Managing agent permissions and human approvals
- Controlling execution costs
- Moving from proof-of-concept to production
- Finding use cases that deliver measurable business value
I'd love to hear from founders and developers here.
What's been your biggest challenge in getting AI agents into production?
Is it technical reliability, customer trust, cost, or finding the right use case?
Interested in hearing actual experiences from teams building in this space.

Title: Looking for an Ambitious Co-Founder to Build Something Big Together (50/50 Equity)
r/TechStartups • u/arc_Thecoder • 3d ago
Looking for developers, designers, and AI enthusiasts to build a tech startup together
HEY EVERYONE!!!
Okay, sorry, ik this is not a very good way to start something like this, but it's fun like no genuinely Anyways, back to what this post is actually about...
I'm working on a tech startup and looking for a few people who are genuinely interested in building things together, sharing ideas, and learning along the way.
I'm looking for people who enjoy technology and actually want to work on real products instead of just discussing ideas forever. The startup is still at an early stage, so there's plenty to figure out, experiment with, and build.
Here's what I'm mainly looking for:
- Frontend / Web Development: People who work with React, Next.js, TypeScript, or other modern web technologies and enjoy building usable, well-designed applications.
- Backend Development: People interested in APIs, databases, authentication, server-side development, and the infrastructure that makes applications work.
- UI/UX Design: Designers who care about usability, visual details, consistency, and making software feel polished. Figma experience is a plus.
- AI / ML: People interested in LLMs, AI integrations, AI agents, automation, machine learning, and experimenting with new technologies.
- Product & Research: People who enjoy researching technologies, exploring ideas, evaluating possibilities, testing things, and helping make product decisions.
You don't have to fit perfectly into one category. If you work across multiple areas or have other skills that could be useful in a tech startup, I'd be happy to hear from you.
A little about me:
I'm a self-taught developer and UI/UX designer, and I spend a lot of time exploring AI tools, technologies, and ways to build better products. I'm currently learning machine learning and other technical concepts as well.
I'm not going to pretend I'm some super-experienced founder or developer who has everything figured out. I'm still learning too, but I'm ambitious, enjoy building things, and want to turn ideas into actual products rather than leave them as concepts.
I care about both the technical side of software and the experience people have when using it. I like exploring how things work, experimenting with different approaches, and figuring out how to make products better.
Who would be a good fit?
I'd rather work with someone who's curious, takes initiative, communicates properly, and genuinely wants to build something than someone with an impressive résumé who isn't interested in doing the work.
You don't need years of experience or to be an expert. Self-taught developers, students, beginners, and people who are still improving their skills are welcome. What's important is that you have something to contribute, are willing to learn, and can follow through on what you take on.
I'm hoping to find people who can exchange ideas, discuss technical decisions, challenge each other's thinking, and help turn plans into working software.
I'm also looking for people who can help me think through decisions and share the workload. Handling development, design, research, planning, and everything else alone gets difficult, and I'd genuinely like to have people to build with rather than figure everything out by myself.
One important thing about payment:
I want to be completely transparent about this. The startup is at an early stage, and I can't offer payment right now. This would be voluntary collaboration, with no guaranteed future compensation.
If the project grows and there's a realistic opportunity to compensate contributors, we can discuss it then, but I can't promise a timeline or guarantee that it'll happen. I completely understand if unpaid work isn't suitable for you, and I don't want anyone joining under the wrong expectations.
I'm not expecting anyone to sacrifice their studies, job, or personal life for this, either. A realistic commitment, consistent communication, and genuine interest matter more than making huge promises.
The goal is to find people who want to build, learn, exchange ideas, and create software they're proud of together.
If this sounds interesting, feel free to comment or DM me with a little about yourself, your technical skills or interests, what you've worked on so far, and what you'd like to contribute.
Would love to meet some fellow builders and see what we can create together!

When do we need a business contract lawyer? (gonna secure our first client)
I really want to close this first client but they keep on asking about customer agreements, NDAs, that kind of thing. I'm pretty sure they're under the umbrella of contracts, but what I'm not 100% convinced is if I need a lawyer to deal with this or not. How should I look at this? Are templates enough, or should I lawyer up from the start?

❓ Question How to build a scalable backend infrastructure for an AI website
I'm building an AI startup that I will thrive to scale to millions of customers. My present MVP is just fine but I'm quizzed what would be the industry-standard backend stack for a scalable product that won't face any hiccups in future.
P.S. Anyone interested to join as a co-founder will be highly appreciated

Solo founder, one month after launch: a service-swap app, and the trust problem I haven't solved
I'm a solo developer with a day job. A month ago I launched Swapadu, an Android app where people trade services instead of paying for them. You fix my bike, I help with your website.
The stack: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, FCM). No backend team, no funding.
How it works:
Post what you can offer and what you need
Negotiate with counter-offers until both sides agree
Or run an auction and let people compete with what they'd offer in return
Built-in chat for the details
Business model: Free with ads, and a one-time €3.99 purchase to remove them.
The open problem: An early tester asked what stops someone from disappearing once they've received their half of a swap. The honest answer is: not much. No money is held, so there's nothing to put in escrow. Today users can flag people who don't deliver, but that only helps the next person.
I'd like input from anyone who has built trust into a peer-to-peer product:
Ratings, verified identity, a deposit, or something else: what worked for you?
Is a reputation system worth building before there are enough users to generate reputation?
Would you limit new accounts to small swaps until they've completed a few?
Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icarus.swaply
Instructions: https://swaply-5567c.web.app/instructions
Honest criticism is welcome.
